Death of H. W Erwin. — Again .w•e
are called on to record .the death of
one -of our 'best known and oldest.
residents in the, perstm of Henry W.
Erwin; who passed away at Kitchen-
er on Friday, October 17th. Since
the death of his wife, January 19th,
1924, deceased lived must of the time
with his slaughter, A[rat H. A, Saucier,
of Kitchener. Last winter \1r. and
Airs. Saucier and Iamb were 'tt St.
Petersburg, Fla., and Air. Erwin spent
several weeks with them there. He
has been in poor health for sons. time.
Deceased was born in Bayfield, Dee -
ember 26th, 1856, and resided here a'I
his life except while learning his trade
at Goderich as a wagon make, and
some six months in Dakota. For sev-
eral years he and his brother carried
on business as furniture and under•
taking but because of failing health
Ile [,vas compelled to retire. December
5th 1883, he was marhaed to Frances
England, who passes! away just aline
months ago. Two sous and one
daughter survive, Frank, Wilber and
'Mrs, Sander, alibi Kitchener, Air, Er-
win was clerk'of Bayfield continuously
for twenty-nine years, 1895-1924, and
previously was clerk 1887, 1890, 1891,
His work was most efficient and. he
was well ,posted in municipal affairs.
For many years he was a member of
the Methodist church and one of the
trustee board. And for several years
was secretary of the .Agricultural S
