Two operations took place at the
hospital this week covering• the two
extremes of life; one that of a child
less than a year old for appendicitis,
and the other a lady 83 years ofage
for strangulated hernia in which, local
anaesthetic was used. Both are do-
ing'well at present, Miss Marie
NLero was also operated on for ap,-
pendicitis aiid Mrs. Fitzpatrick had
tonsils removed.•

son-in-law of Mfrs. F. Buchanan, of
Wingham: "As the result of a'cltal-
lenge between friends, Dr. Robert
Jackson and C. J. Gregory, Toronto,
last night completed a 1,300 -utile
bicycle tette, which took thein to
Quebec city, Montreal, south to New
York city and west to Toronto, the
entire trip consuming only 18 days.
Dr. Jackson, who is 65 years of age,
and his youngfriend, Mr. Gregory,

left Toronto on May 14th, ned l,tg
the entire distance, sleeping

nights and cooking their own meals.

1926, or a, reduction of 9-10 of a mill,
giving that township a deficit of

future adjustment.
