Mr. Wm. Ivison who bee been confined to his bed for a week is improving daily. Mr. and Mrs. Emmerson Kyle: entertained Sunday for their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don Kyle of Zurich. S. 2, Tuckersmith held their annual Christmas concert under direction of their teacher, Miss Turner. Mr. Emmerson lOyle was chairman during the evening and the following is the programme: Opening Chorus, "We hope you've brougbt your smiles along", fol- lowed by a recitation by Karen Littleton; duet "0 come little Children" by Susan Lostell and Al Kyle; Christmas Lessons, by Juniors; Action Song, "We've got the Mumps". Remarks try the chairman; dialogue "Who took the pie?" Rhythm Band Santa's Calls" by Juniors; Play, The Mail Order Ilat; Solo, The Waggle 0' the Kilt by Joan Sin- clair; Action Song, Three Little Pigs; Scotch Dance by Mary Nor- ris and Joan Sinclair; Boys' com- ic backwards drill; piano solo by Joan Sinclair; dialogue, Letters to Santa; quartette, "One Um- brella for two"; dialogue, A Help- ing Hand; Christmas Wreath Drill; dialogue, Teaching the City Chap; Rhythm Band by the Seniors. Christmas carols were sung. Closing chorus "Good Bye" followed by a recitation by Jim Kyle. Several selections were gi- ven by Norris Orchestra during the evening. "God save the Queen" and Santa appeared with gifts for the children. EGMONDViLLE The Christmas meeting of the 17gmondville Church was held in the Sunday School room of the Church on Dec 10th at 2 o'clock. Mrs. A. Boyer the W.A. Presi- dent, presided. The meeting 0P- ened with the theme song, after which the minutes of Last meet- ing were read and adopted, then roll call was answered. The meet- ing was opened for business. A committee was appointed to sel- ect a rife member for the W. A. Gandy for the -Christmas concert was discussed. A conunittee was formed to look after it. We then had the Treasurer's report which showed a very prosperous Year. Mrs. Semple. then took .over and Mrs. Stan Jackson read the slate of .officers for 1959. Miss Frances Houston, our W8tS president then took over the chair. She op- ened ,the meeting with a reading for Christmas. Minutes of last meeting were react and adopted after which the roll call was an- swered. The treasurer's 'report was .then given by Mrs. R. Mc Gondgle. MI's. .A.. Routledge and Mrs: ID. Semple and Mrs. Ham- mond gave Christmas readings. Mrs. E. Boyes then gave a poem on "Christmas is Remembering". The devotional was taken by four lad4ee, Ms's. J, 'Melntosh, Mrs. D. Stephenson, Mrs, W. Cameron, Mrs. M.: 'Ianey. A number of Olnristanes hymens were sung aft- er which we -a11 repeated the ben- ediction. A. social half hour was spent with lune. A sing- song was held after which an auction sale of -home baking was conducted (by 'MI's. Titer of Mit- chell, The proceeds go toward the retarded children society. 14 members were present and one visitor. Mrs. .J. Looby read the minutes of the previous meeting. Plans were discussed to attend a summary day in January. Lunch was served by the committee Mrs- G. Robinson, Mre. Charles Friend and 'Mrs. H. Pethick. HENSALL Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barrett and daughter of New York are holl- daydng with Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Hyde and Mr. and Mrs. J. Faber and Joyce. Mr. W. Blackwell of Lansing, Mich., visited last week with his brothers and was accompanied home by his mother, Mrs, Sarah Blackwell of Exeter, 'who will spend Christmas with.. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Biacicwell and family. Dr. Wm. T. Joynt of London is holidaying with bis mother, Mrs. Alice Joynt. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lammie and family of Centralia were recent visitors with the former's slater, Mess Greta Lammie. Mr. Laurence Benham of Belleville is spending the holi- days with Mrs. Baynham and the family here. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Dilling left this week for Sarnia where they will spendthe holiday with their daughter, Miss Bernice DiII- ing and son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Glarence Dilling and son. ' Mr. Stewart Bell suffered a heart attack at his home last week and will be confined to his room for several weeks. Miss Bernice Dilling of Sarnia spent the weekend with her par- ents, Mr, and :firs. Gilbert Dilling Miss Phyllis Dougall, who is on the teacher' exchange in Eng- land left by plane tOday to spend the Holiday season with her parents, Mr: and Mrs. W. R, Dougall. Mr. and \Ira. R. Y. Maclaren Ieft this week for Waterloo where .they will spend the Holiday sea- son with their daughter, Mrs. Margaret Evans and family. Mr. and Mrs. Joe De Lodge Of Sarnia were weekend visitors with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Chapman and family. BRUCEFIELD Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Taylor spent a few days in Toronto last week. Mr. John Moffatt and Mr, John McGregor left on Friday to spend the Christmas holidays in Cali- fornia with Mr. Moffatt's sister, Mrs. Jas. Strifler.. Miss Marion Triebner and Miss Helen Blair, Bayfield, are spend- ing the holidays in Florida. Miss Janet Watson, Aylmer, is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Watson, and her sister Mrs. G. Beecroft, Belgrave. Mr. Morley Taylor, Toronto, spent Christmas with his parents Mr. and Mrs. V. Taylor. Miss Louise Allen of Hamilton is spending the holidaye with her brother Mr. Edgar Allen. Mrs. Gus Voth, Detroit, visit- ing with her father, Mr. C. G. Simpson. The many friends of Mrs. Alex Wright were sorry to learn that she fell on the ice in Seaforth. on Saturday- and fractured her hip. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hargreaves were guests of Mrs. Hargreaves' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold. Henderson, Ingersoll, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Simon McKenzie left on Monday to. spend Christ- mas with their son and family, In Ingersoll. The Community extend their sympathy to Mrs. Hugh McLach- lan.
