The presi- dent opened the meeting with the theme "God's Promise of the ' taken from Isaiah Christ Child" 9: 6 followed by hymn 51 "0 Lit- tle Town of Bethlehem" with Mrs,. D. Watson at the piano. A combined worship service .consis- ted of scripture reading from Luke 2 -1-7 read by Mrs; N. Reid. The 4th verse of hymn 51 was repeated in unison. Hymn 62 "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night" was sung and the 2nd scripture reading from Luke 9: 9.20 was read by Mrs. Ken McDonald. Mrs. G. Mo - Gavin gave comments then hymn 50 '"As of Gladness Men of Old" was sung. Mrs, N. Sohade read a passage from Matt, 2: 1-12 and Mrs. McDonald meditated on it. Mrs. R. McMichael gave a very interesting reading 'How Grand- mother Taylor taught the Town". Prayer was offered by Mrs. A. McDonald. A solo "Silent Night" by Mrs. H. Travis followed. Sec- retary's report and thankyou cards were read by Mrs, R. Ben- nett. It was decided to give a do- nation of 925 to "Story Time", the most closely watched pro- gram, the Sunday School to give what portion they wish and W.A. to make up the balance. Mrs, A, Coutts gave the financial state- ment, Two hundred dollars is to be given ta.the church fund in part payment for the basement doors, Mrs. Mc—Gavin, retiring presi- dent thanked the ladies for their eo-operatiou during her two years in office, Mrs. A. McDonald on behalf of the W.A. thanked Mrs. McGavin for her willingness and effort putt into her work, The collection was received by Mrs. R. Achilles and the meeting closed with prayer. The Missionary Month- ly will be placed on bulletin board and each subscriber is re - .quested to get their own. Sirs. C. Ritchie read an item on Christ- Fei'owst:ip "Good Friday In Christmas colors and place cards depicting the holiday sea- son. A bounteous supper was served with the winning side each wearing handmade paper hats which were'later displayed and Taylor judged,Mrs,, Tien and Mrs, Culbert -were the Judges choosing as winners Mrs. A. Dun- dee and Mrs. W. M. Thomas, Cai'- ol singing was enjoyed., A musical parcel -passing contest was held with Mrs. 2, Brown at the piano and Mrs, SVm. Thamer was win- ner.
