Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brickman and Barry of Brampton with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Hinz. Miss Lee Barracks and Mr. Don Ahrens of Hamilton with Mr, and Nit's. Chas. Ahrens. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Jarmuth and Mr. and Mss. Floyd Wass- mau to SaultSte. Marie for the weekend. Mr. Garry Sholdice is on holi- days from the Canadian Bank of Commerce, Dublin, and spent the weekend in Detroit, Many from here attended the shooting matoh held in Monkton on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lew Hicks, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph hicks, Alvin and Sherry attended the celebration of the 60th wedding anniversary of the former's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ilioks, Gen- tralia, on Saturday. Flowers adorned the altar of St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Sunday from the wedding on Saturday of Miss Beatrice Sie- nlon and Murrey Dawson. The couple also made a donation to the Organ Fund. A donation was also given to the Organ Fund by Mrs. John Vncic and family in memory of John Vocic who was laid to rest two years ago Oct. 19th. Mr. and Mrs. John ri6ueller, and Ruth Ann of Hamilton with her mother, Mas. A. Hillebrecltt, Rev, and Mrs. ICiffer of Ellice accompanied Rev, and Mrs, E. J. Fischer. to Port Elgin, Sunday and Monday. Mr. anti Mrs. Louie Buuck and girls, Rostock, Mr. and Mrs. Nor - tan Ferguson. Exeter, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wolfe and boys, of Stratford, Miss Beth Cole, Rus- seldale with Mr. and Mrs. La- vern Wolfe. Thanksgiving and Harvest Home Services were observed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church here on Sunday. Despite the shortage of flowers due to the frost, the chancel was beautifully decorat- ed. Fruit, vegetables and grain were also used in decoration, Children of the Kindergarten ciao of the Sunday School car- ried ,potatoes, apples, grapes, grain and flowers to the chancel at the opening of the service, the following ohildren carried: Starr Fischer, Karen Leonhardt, Dean Smith, Warren Young (grain) ; Joanne Jarmuth, Nita Rapien, Warren Reek and Wayne Ahrens (apples) ; Margaret Elligsen and Janice Dietz, Don Campbell, Kim Leonhardt (potatoes) ; Wendy Wolfe, Donna Leonhardt, James. Batter, Douglas Vock (grapes); Joyce Vocic, Elizabeth Elligsen, Ralph Pusehelberg, Neil Better - 11111,1M (Dowers). Mrs. Lena Elligsen with Mrs. Alma Pusehelberg, Listowel. The monthly dinner meeting of Brodhagen and District Cham- ber of Commerce was held in the church basement last. ThnrsdaY evening with Brodhagen Group of the United Lutheran Church women catering. During the busi- ness period the building commit- tee were given authority to go ahead with a community hall, size to be 40 x 100, two storey. Mr. Geo. Etekmeir, chairman of the building committee and his committee have been looking at other buildings and plans. It was also decided to hold a tur- key raffle this Fall. BRUCEFIELD MRS. BENJAMIN KEYS Mrs. Benjamin Keys. the form- er Rachel Ann Turner, wife of the late Robert Benjamin Keys, died October 5th in Clinton Pub, lie Hospital. She was in her 75th year. Her passing was sudden and was the result of a severe stroke suffered the morning of the same day at her home at Brucefisld. Up to this time she had enjoyed reasonably good health. Mrs. Keys was born on the Parr Line, Stanley twp., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Turner. In 1913 she mar- ried the late Robert Benjamin Keys and moved to the Babylon Line. In 1943 they moved to Var- na and in 1947 to Brucefreld. Mr, Keys died in 1955. Mrs. Keys was a member of )3rucefield United Church and was aotive in Women's organizations in the church. Before moving to Bruce. field she had been a member of United Ohurches at Goshen and Varna. Mrs. Keys is survived by her four sons, Mervyn of Winni- peg; Harvey of Hensel]; Allan of Ottawa and Gordon of Cam- laehie, also one brother, Harvey :Turner of the Parr Line. There. are nine grandchildren. Tho funeral service was held from Brueefielci United Church on Wednesday, (Maher 8th, con- ducted by Rev. S. Davison. Inter- ment was in Bayfield Cemetery. 1 Pallbearers were Walter Mr - Beath, Russell Erratt, Clifford Keyes, Elgin McKinley, Fred Mc• Cljnnout and Glen Swan. The flower bearers were Elmer Turner, Wilmer Turner, James Turner. 'Harvey Coleman, Anson Coleman and Jas. McNaughton, BLAKE Mrs. Archie Mustard and Mrs. Peter Gingerich spent an after- noon with Miss Elizabeth Finlay, A number of this vicinity, at- tended the reception held in the Zurich Community Centre in honour of Dr. and Mrs. A. W. Klahse n. Dr. ICahsen is going to make tris practice in Zurich. Mrs, Clarence Foster of De- troit, spent Friday with Misses Margaret. Elizabeth and Master James Finlay. Mr, and Mrs. Ervin Shantz of Baden spent Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Peter Gingerich and called on other relatives. HOME NURSING AND FIRST AID—Care of sick, use of antiseptics and bandages. 9. BASIC ENGLISH and CITIZENSHIP—For New Canadians. There may be other courses in which there is an. interest. If so, please fill in coupon, indicating such courses, and if there is suf- ficient interest every effort will be made to provide instruction. FEES—$5.00 per person, payable on the opening night of the course, at which time everyone will assemble in the Auditorium to meet class instructors. L, Whyte and faintly spent the weekend with Mr, and Mrs. Areber I3aldwin of Ornemee and attended the wed- ding of their son John to Miss Laura Taylor at Minden. on Sat- urday. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Brock of Thnrneele were visitors of Mr. and Mrs, Won, Jewitt and family on Friday. Mr.. and Mrs, Ken Reid and sons of London spent a few days last week with Mr, and Mrs. Lu- ther Saunders. Weekend and holiday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley were Mr. and Mrs. Root. Woods and Debbie of Ajax and Mr. Douglas Riley of Eastwood. Mr. and Mrs, Jack 'Dodds or London smelt the weekend with 11r. and Mrs. Harvey Taylor and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. V. Dale and fancily and Mr, and Mrs, Earl Lawson and Reg. and attended "Auras Church Anni- versary" Sunday. Mr. and Mrs, James Atwood and family of Windsor spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Grimoldby and all enioyed the Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann, Winghem. Mr. Anthony Lawson, Picker- ing and Miss Nancy Tilteon of Toronto were weekend visitors, with Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Medd. Miss Muriel Dale of Brampton spent the weekend with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. V, Dale. Mr. Harvey Dale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Dale, had the misfortune to fall from a truck and had to spend a few days in Scott Memorial Hospital, and is now recuperating at home. We wish hien a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Donald and sons of. Midland, Michigan, spent the Thanksgiving holiday with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Jamieson and Jim. Throughout a series of euchres a prize of a beautiful chair will be given to the player with the most games commencing from the firsteuchre in November. The next euchre, which will be Oct. 94th will be under the pices of the local Ladies Lodge and further announcement will be found in the local paper.
