The monthly meeting of the
Hannah Home and School, S.S.
7, Tuakersmith was held in the
school rooms last Thursday even-
ing. The President, ML's. K. Sharp
opened' the meeting with the
name of the First school they at-
tended and the location of the
school. Tvlr. R. Sharp introduced
the speaker of the evening, Chief
of Pollee E. Hutchinson of the
town of Seaforth, who gave a
very interesting talk on, Police
Work, Highway Safety and Fire
Prevention. The next meeting on
November 12 will be held in the
school rooms and the speaker will
be -Mr. G. J. Gorman, Inspector of
Public Schools. At this meeting.
an Honor Roll will be dedicated
to the fernier pupils who attend-
ed S. S. 7, School.

The Mcliillop WMS of First
Presbyterian Church met at the
hone of Mrs, Geo. -B, Dorrance
with a large attendance of mem-
bers and friends. The president,
Mrs. Helen McMillan presided
and opened the meeting with a
Poem and a hymn. Final plans
were made for our thankoffering
which is to be held in the church
hall Thursday afternoon Oct. 16,
when Rev, D. Leslie Elder will be
our special speaker. Mrs. R. E.
McMillan and her group had
charge of the program. The scrip-
ture lesson was read by birs. Sam
McClure and Mrs. R. E. MoMSl
len offered prayer. A lovely solo
"In the Garden" was sung by
levrs. Edward Dorrance. Tho topic
was taken by Mrs, It, Dorrance

honors at the shows where given equal opportunity..

A daughter of Brampton- Standing Beacon was
Grand Champion at the 1958 Waterloo County Par-
ish show for Sherwood Taylor of Galt. Her dim was
a daughter of Jester's Dreamer and a top show cow.
Her grandam was a daughter of Bramptp t la, Vio-
let's Beacon and a Reserve Grand Champion at the
Royal Winter Fair. These three generations were
all bred through the Waterloo Unit,

Champion at the 1958 Waterloo County Black and
White Show for Irvin Embodier. Her dein wa,s by

' show was the largest in Ontario so far for this
season. 'Unit daughters were prominent amongst
the winners especially in the milking age females.
