Dantzer, 14 Ster- lin,ve., North Kitchener, died suddenly while teaching school at Galt on Tuesday morning. Born in McKillop two• son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Dantzer, he was in his ,56th year. lie attended Beeehvrood school and Dublin High School and is a graduate of the North Bay Teachers' College of 1225. He taught at various schools throughout the district and also at St. Jeromes High 'School at Kttehener He was married Ito' Marie Hishon of Kinkora in 1925, and is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Murray Steffler (Joan) Kitch- ener; Janet and Elaine at home, also three brothers Andrew of Norbh Bay; Harvey, Windsor; and William of R. R. a, Dublin; one sisier, Mrs. jOhn Nagle (Helen) of Dublin. He was a member of St. Annes Roman Catholic Church, Kitchener; Holy Name Society and •a Fourth Degree Knights of Col- umbus; he was also active in Various teachers' organizations. Glia body will rest at 'the iSchreiter and ISandroeks. Funer al Home until Thursday morn- ing when Requiem High Mass will be sung at St. Armes 'Church, Kitchener, at 10 o'- clock. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. CONSTANCE 40th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Robert Griniold- by celebrated their .40th wed- ding anniversary on Sunday with•a family dinner. They were anarried 40 years ago Feb. 20th, 1918, by the Rev. D. Carswell of Duff's Church, McKillop, itt the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Riley. Their attendants were Mr. An, drew Grimoldiby of Weston, and the late MTS. John Mann. They have a daughter Clive, Mrs, Ken Betties and two grandsons Paul and Gary Betties of Winthrop. TOWNSEND Mrs, Hannah Elizabeth Town- send, of orucitersmith, died in Clinton Tuesday, in her 83rd year. She was born in Tuckersmith, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Odell. She was a member of Turner's United -Church. Her husband, Amos Townsend, died 20 years ago. Surviving are one daughter Ila, Mrs. Frank Walters of Tuckersanith; two sons, Ray- mond, Seaforth, and Elmer, Tuck- ersmith, 'also fifteen grand child- ren and fifteen great grand child- ren. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 2 o'clock at the Bali and Muteh, funeral home at Clin- ton. Service will be conducted by Rev. Grant Mille, and interment will be in Turner's cemetery. BLYTH PUBLISHER PASSES Rev. Charles Scott of Sarni,, a former minister at Blyth, offiCiat- ed at a funeral service in Blyth United Chur,ch Tuesday afternoon for Kenneth Whitmore, publisher of the Blyth Standard, who died at his home early Sunday. He was buried at Clinton Cemetery. ,Mr. Whitmore, who was in his 50th year, was a native of bol - borne Tp. After serving an ap- prenticeship with the Clinton News -Record, he went to Blyth 29 years ago, buying the paper from A. W. Robinson. Surviving is his wife, the form- er Gladys Blake,,also of Colborne, and one son, Douglas, who assist- ed his father. FORTY YEARS AGO From the 'Seaford". News, February 1918 Mr, Geo. John MdNay has bought the Sproat & Co. feed store and also the Anent house on North Main street. Joseph Hackwell has bought the farm of William Knechtel in McKiliop. The Knechtel family will trove to ISeaforth. A curling rink composed of Messrs. Barber, Beattie, Kers- lake and Ament won the Just - Wright trophy at St. Thomas. A minister tells this one: A certain minister called on an old lady, and found a parrot in her parlor. The parrot kept say- ing every little while; "I wish the old girl would die." The min- ister said he could set this mat- ter right, "I, too, luive a parrot, madam, and it is a very honest bird. Its talk is very edifying and it will soon guide your par- rot into decent speech." The minister sent the parrot that evening and the grateful old lady put them side by side. Then with a pleased smile she sat and waited to listen to their conversation. "I wish the old girl would die" said the host .parrot. And the guest parrot rolled his eyes and declithned solemnly: "We beseech thee to hear us, good Lord." Thos. Gray, M.P., of Yorkton, 1Sask., visited his, cousin, Mrs. James 1VIcOlyanont at Kippen. He is a former .Kippen boy who has made good in the West. On page two is a long letter from a Walton district farmer who tell06 having to fburn bar- ley to keep warm as he is des- titute. Geo. A. :Sills was honored by the iSeaforth Fire IBrig'ade on his '78th Ibirthday, having been a member of the company itor 58 years.
