A basket of flowers was plac- ed in the chancel of 'St. Peters Lutheran Church on Sunday from the '50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Diegel, which was observed on Thurs- day. A number from here 'attend- ed a reception at the town hall, 'Mitchell, on !Thursday evening in honor of Mr, and Mrs. Henry E. Diegeis 50th anniversary. St. Peter's Lutheran annual Sunday School Christmas pro- gram will be held on 'Christmas eve, Dec. 24th at 8 o'eloek, The Nursery department of St. Peter's Lutheran Church held their. Christmas party on ;Monday afternoon. A program was presented and lunch served. S, S. 8, Logan (Front Line) held !their 'Christmas concert on Friday evening. The school was prettily decorated. Miss Joanne Rock is the teacher. Mrs. Lorne Mueller, the pianist, and Mr. W. Muegge the chairman. (business period included the reading of the treasurer's report given in (Miss Mae 'Smith's absence by Miss Rena McKenzie. This report. showed a very successful year financially and the ladies are to be congratulated for their effort towards their share of the church renovations. .A committee was named to look after candy for the ch'iildrenfor the annual Christmas concert. It was decided to cater for the Tuckelslnith Federation of Ag- riculture banquet in. January. This part of the meeting closed with the Mission Theme iSonig, "We'll e'!ll Sing in the (Morning, the Song of Salvation". The W. M. S. meeting was conducted by Mrs, J. 'Semple, 1st Vice Pres., in Mrs. A. ]Pep- per's arbsenee. The animutes of the November meeting were read by the secretary and e card of appreciaition from 'Mrs. S. Townsend and family. Mrs. :A. C. Routledge gave the treas- urer's report showing that our allocation will be exceeded by a 'substantial amount by Dec. 31. 'Reports of .the year's 'work were •given from the different 'departmental secretaries. Mrs: !Semple, chairman of the pro- gram committee reviewed the highlights of the year's pro- grams. Tyndall and !Mrs, E. Stephenson. As an •op- ening for the Christmas pro- gram :a Ohristmas poem was read by Mrs. !Semple. Mrs. Jas. McIntosh read the scripture lesson from Matt. 2: 1-12. A very lovely solo; a :German Car- ol entitled, "A. Ohristmas Tree" was sung Iby Mrs. Durst. Mrs. E. Cameron read a Chl'istmas Story, "Little Susan's !Christ- mas". We were pleased to shave 'our new friend, Mss. Hansen sing a Christmas Carol in the Danish language. As a closing' Mas. Semple read "How the Great d !by Caine". This was Legion. Hockey followed +by singing the Carol "Silent Night, Holy Night", and SATURDAY MORNING HOCKEY prayer by Mrs. 'Semple. Fisch- er the pianist for the •evening. Gifts were then exchanged and each member of the. Ladies Aid received a Christmas card- with a ihan'ci crocheted cross book- mark from the President, Mrs. •P'. Young. Pastor and 'Mrs. Fis- cher were presented with a handmade green and gold quilt- ed satin bedspread frown the la- dies. Lighted Christmas tree' was used in 'decoration.
