DUBLIN High School News 'By It, Flannery Exams: What ' horrible thing's they are! Two or three weeks before the exams start the teacher tells you that it would be wise to start e little extra studying but ;do you? Oh, no, you don't want to tire out your brains (before the exams even start and anyway there is plen- ty of time. (However time seems to go a (little faster than usual and one night you look at the calendar. What, the history ex- am is tomorrow. You rush and get your books and try and find a quiet place an the 'house. By this time you are in,a real pan- ic. Where will, you start? About ten hours and forty pages of history notes later you decide it's time for school. On the way you wonder if you have every- thing straight, did Napoleon really discover America and was the Czar of Russia really the leader in the American Revolu- tion? As you go into the school you decide that next time you are going to start studying at least six weeks in advance. That is all for this week, you see we are writing our Ohristimes ex- ams and we have :history to- morrow. WALTON Institute members and their families gathered in the Walton Community hall on Thursday ev- ening to celebrate Family Night, which took the form of a pot luck supper. A very hearty meal was enjoye4 by all, after which a short meeting was held with Mrs. Margaret Humphries in the chair. Minutes of the October meeting were read by Mrs. Torrance Dun- das in the absence of the secret- ary Mrs. Wilbur Turnbull. It was decided to hold the De- cember meeting a week earlier, on Thursday evening, Dec. 19. The roll call to be answered with a donation for shut-ins consisting of Christmas dainties, fruit. and candy. The committee to look after this meeting is, Mrs. Art Busby, Mrs. Ronald Bennett and Mrs. Wm. Humphries Members are requested to bring a guest and gift valued at 50c so that Santa Claus may distribute. a present to everyone. It was voted that the Institute sponsor the Rug Making. Course, and the 4-H Girls Course on wool. Any one interested in taking the rug making course is asked to notify Mrs. M. Humphries or Mrs. T. Dundas. The remainder of the evening was spent in progressive euchre with 12 tables at play. Prize winners were, high, ladies, Mrs. Boyd Driscoll; ladies lone hands, Mrs, Frank Walters; lad- ies law, Mrs. Ross McCall. Gents, high, Barry Marshall; gents, lone hands, Graeme Craig; gents low, Alvin McDonald. Deserving great credit for the evening's success were the committee members, Mrs, Nelson Marks and Mrs. Herb Travis. • Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Mercer and Mr. and Mrs. David Andrews of Toronto spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. George Dun- dasand attended the diamond anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. David Boyd on Saturday.
