SENIOR AUXILIARY The Nov. meeting of the Sen- ior Auxiliary of First Presby- terian Church was held in the ehurch schoolroom on Tuesday afternoon. The president, 'Mrs. D. ,Glenn Campbell, presided and opened the meeting with. the poem, "So Long As There Are :Homes". During the busi- ness period it was announced that gifts have been sent to the Penmarvian Home at Paris, On- tario. The date of the Decem- ber meeting was changed to Tuesday, Dee, -10th. Miss M. Gray's group was in change of the devotional part of the meeting. Mrs. H. R. Scott read irhe scripture lesson and Mrs. A. Kerr led in prayer. The last chapter of the study book - on Southeast Asia was discussed by Miss Jessie Fraser and Mrs. J. L, Bell. The discus- sion pointed out .that ,the. mis- sionary task there is still un- finished, and also that mission work is changing. Today their need is for more churches and more native trained leaders, The help they want from us is well qualified missionaries, doc- tors, nurses and agriculturalists to 'train 'their people to become more efficient in the work, and be able to have self-supporting congregations so that they. can carry on themselves the unfin- isheid task.. The new officers for 1958 are: President, Mrs, Donald Buchan- an; vice president, Mrs. Harold Smalldon; secretary, Mrs. Martin Baan; W.A. treasurer, Mrs. Cliff- ord' Ritchie; W.M.S. treasurer, Mrs. George Wfliiailisdu. `Supper committee, Mrs.' James Coutts, Mrs. John Bruge,. Quilt , commit- tee, Mrs. Roy Bennett, Mrs. Wm. Bennett, Mrs, James McMichael and Mrs. Thos. Leeming. Two quilt tops were donated by Mrs. James .Clark and Mrs. George Williamson. ' Mrs. Douglas Ennis was host ess for the November meeting of the Walton group on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Frank Walters pre- sided and opened the meeting with hynin. . Scripture was read by Mrs. Walter Bewley. Mrs. Nel- son Marks reported on the Octob- er meeting, and called the roll, The W.A. treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Luella Marshall and 'Mrs. Earl Watson gave the W.M.S. financial statement. Mrs.. George Dundee introduced the topic. It was voted to have the lunch committee remain the same as last year with a different hos, teas. Mrs. Nelson Marks distrib- uted the topic .and contest slips for the coming year. Mrs. Herb Travis gave the report of the no- minating committee with the slate of officers for 1058; President, Mrs. James Clark; vice president, Mr's, .Art Busby, secretary Mrs. Nelson Marks, W. i1. S. treasurer, Mrs. Earl Wat- son; W.A. treasurer, Mrs. Ronald Bennett; press reporter, Mrs. Douglas Ennis; pianist, Mrs. Herb Travis. Contest leaders, Mrs, Gor- don Murray and Mrs, Emerson Mitchell Supper committee -Mrs. Ernie Stevens, Mrs. Ralph Trav- is, Mrs, Wm. Thamer and Mrs. Wm. Bennett. Quilt committee - Mrs. Peter McDonald and Mrs. Lloyd Porter, The copper contest money was counted by the two leaders, Mrs. Wnr, Thamer and Mrs, Ralph Travis, and resulted in a win for Mrs. Travis' side. One slightly Injured The car on the right approached the intersection and slowed down, apparently to wait until the other car had passed. But, suddenly, thedriver changed her mind and began to accelerate ... no doubt thinking she had time to cross the intersection: The other driver braked immediately, but couldn't stop in time. His car slammed into the other broadside. The indecisive driver died in hospital. Indecision has been the cause of many serious and fatal accidents. Remember this, every time you drive.
