Gale of ..Mitchell, visited Sunday even- ing with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Laing. Mr. and Mrs. T. Gillespie, Margaret and Anne, and Mr. Grant, Komoka, were Sunday visitors with !Mr. and Mrs. T. Laing and !Mr. and Mrs. T. L. !Scott. Tihe annual Thanlaoffering service of the WMS will be held on Sunday, Nov, 10th with Mrs. IA.rthur Hamilton of Atwood as guest speaker. The teacher, Miss 'Campbell, and pupils of SS. No. ,6 enter- tained the parents and pre- school,children at their Hal- lowe'en ,masquerade !party on Thursday afternoon. The prizes were won by Brian Dow for the 'best pretschool costume; Peter Stankowski best for boys and Mrs. T. L. Scott, for girls. Best comic costume, John Scott. Mrs. Gerald Carey and Mrs. Calder McKaig acted as judges. +Mar- garet Wallace and Marlene Dow were the program committee and Billy Ramsey, David (Scott and Karen Scott convened the games and contest. Lunch was served after the program. IF/0 Roger Neil and Mrs. Neil and F/O Bud Rud and 'Mrs. Rud and son Barry, all of Tren- ton, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Allen. The opening ,meeting of the Farm .Forum was held in the school on 'Monday night, BRUCEFIELD :Brucefield United Church Ba- zaar was held in the school room of the church, on Friday afternoon when a large crowd of neighboring societies attend- ed, about '3220.00 was realized and a friendly cup of tea was enjoyed. IMr. and Mrs. Bert .McKay of London, visited on (Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne 'Wilson. Miss Mary 'Gordon, 'Goderich, spent a few days with Mr. and Mr's. Thos. Baird. Mr, and Mrs. Geo. The November ,meeting of .the WMS of Duff's `United Church was held last Thursday after- noon in the church basement with Mrs. E. Mitchell presiding and Mrs. Wilbur Turnbull as accompanist. The roll call was answered by a Remembrance verse and minutes of last meet- ing given by Mrs. R. McMichael, also the •treasurer's report 'by Mrs. R. Achilles. 'The (Christian Fellowship leader, Mrs. C. Rit- chie read a story on Race Preju- dice, Members who wish to re- new their Missionary (Monthly notify Mrs. T. Dundee before the end of November. The .fol- lowing committee was appoint- ed: Mrs. Alvin McDonald, Mrs. G. McGavin, Mrs. R. Achilles, Mrs H. Travis, and MIs Clar- ence Martin Very interesting reports by Mrs. Wilbur Turn - (bull and Mrs. E. 'Mitchell of bhe Centre Section Convention of Huron 'Presbyterial WAILS held in Winthrop 'United 'Church were given. The W. A. meeting opened. Mrs. Ken 'McDonald presided. The secretary's report was given by Mrs. R. 'Bennett, followed by the treasurer's repoit and Mrs. A. Coutts stating ,bhe receipts of the fowl supper were 3,864.- 46 and the balance on hand was $691.62. Mrs. F. Walters and Mrs. G. MoGavin gave reports of the W. A. Preslbyterial held at Nile. (Christmas cards were given to group leaders for dis- tribution. Anyone having dishes 'belonging to •other members, or church dishes are asked to re- turn them to the church as soon as possible. A 'Bible Society meeting will be held in the schoolroom of. the Church on Friday evening, Nov. 15th at S :p.m. Come to hear 'Rev. G. P. Parson 'B.A., District Sec., of.the British and Foreign Bible ISooiety in'Canada and learn more about the world-wide work of circulating the scripture in every man's language. A film on Korea will be shown. WINTHROP The regular meeting sof the Winthrop x. P. was held do Ca van Church on (Sunday evening Nov. ,Obh. The meeting 'opened* with everyone repeating the Y. P. !Purpose. The roll callwas answered,and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted. 'Bob .Campbell read bhe .scripture, 'Sit. Matthei'' •5 i 11.3.119.Rev. 'Summerell led in prayer. The topic which was on Christian 'Education was given by Mrs. Toll. The offering was received followed (by a message from Rev. ISummerell. Hymn 174 was sung and the benedic- tion followed. W.M.S. 71st Birthday Party The W.1t1S of 1St. Andrew's United ,Church met Wednesday evening, -Nov. 6th at the church for their 71st birthday party when societies of Goshen and 'Brucefield ,Churches were bhe guests for the evening. Mrs. Allam Johnson moved a vote of 'thanks to the hostesses, the guest speaker, and all who had taken part in the pi sgram. The 'President, Mrs. Anderson then offered- a prayer.
