THRIFTY KIPPENETTES
The second meeting was held
on June 3rd at the home of Mrs.
Broadfoot, assistant leader. The
meeting opened with the 4-H
pledge, Minutes were read by
the secretary and approved. The
roll call "One vegetable in my
garden which requires thinning"
was answered by 12 members.
It was decided to hold the next
Meeting July 2nd at :.Mrs. Sin-
elair's• home. Discussion on gar-
den weeds and insects followed.
Members were told to hoe gard-
en every week and dust with in-
sect killer as often as necessary.
Mrs, Broadfoot demonstrated
the transplanting of plants. This
is best if done at might when
the sun is not hot. We !referred
to Canada's health Rules . and
Food Guide for Health. Proper
cooking methods were related
and asparagus, was prepared.
The home assignment and roll
call were given out. Lunch was
served by the hostess. The meet-
ing closed with the Institute
Ode sung in unison.
CROP REPORT
A large percentage of the
eorn•and beans have been plant-
ed this week 'and there is still a
considerable acreage to be
planted. There is the odd field
of bay that has been cut and
baled, although :hay is hardly
mature enough yet, says D. 11.

Each has a different objective, but both are
working on the same idea: that to get ahead
it is important to save ahead, too.
Your reasons for wanting to build up your
bank account can be as varied as human
hopes and needs ... a vacation, your child's
education, a new rug, camera equipment; or
simply the deep satisfaction and sense of security
that a cushion of ready cash creates.
A chartered bank is a convenient place to
keep
'
your savings safe, and to keep them
growing, Whether your ,account is large or
small, the trained and friendly staff is there to
take care of all your banking needs.
Save at a bank — millions do!

June 16, 1937. •
The dearest Dad this world could hold
With cheery smile and heart of gold.
To those who know him, all will know
]Tow mush we lost 20 years ago.
I watched your hourly suffering dear Dad
As I stood helplessly by,.
I'could'not help in any way,
But only hope and pins,
No ono heard the foot atops of angels
drawing near
Who took from us to Heaven.
Tho ono we loved so dear.
