THRIFTY KIPPENETTES The second meeting was held on June 3rd at the home of Mrs. Broadfoot, assistant leader. The meeting opened with the 4-H pledge, Minutes were read by the secretary and approved. The roll call "One vegetable in my garden which requires thinning" was answered by 12 members. It was decided to hold the next Meeting July 2nd at :.Mrs. Sin- elair's• home. Discussion on gar- den weeds and insects followed. Members were told to hoe gard- en every week and dust with in- sect killer as often as necessary. Mrs, Broadfoot demonstrated the transplanting of plants. This is best if done at might when the sun is not hot. We !referred to Canada's health Rules . and Food Guide for Health. Proper cooking methods were related and asparagus, was prepared. The home assignment and roll call were given out. Lunch was served by the hostess.
