The annual meeting of the
Walton W. I. was held in the
community hall on Thursday
evening, April 25th with the
president, Mrs. Margaret Hum-
phries in the chair. The Institute
Ode and Mary Stewart Collect
were repeated in unison, after
which "0 Canada" was sung
with Mrs. Herb Travis as •accom-
panist. The roll call was answer-
ed by the paying of fees, with

f6He Gets Things one for
Huron"
Born in Seaforth, he is the 47 -year-old Editor of The Huron Expositor.
A member of First Presbyterian Church, Seaforth, he is married, with a
family of two boys and two girls.
He served as Member of Parliament (1949-53) for the former riding of
Huron -Perth. In 1952 he was named a delegate to represent Canada at
the seventh general assembly of the United Nations.
He is a veteran of the RCAF. retiring in 1946 with the rank of Squadron
Leader.
He is familiar with municipal problems and has been most active in
community affairs. He is a member of the Canadian Legion, Lions Club
and of the Board of Scott Memorial Hospital. He is a former chairman of
the Seaforth Public Utility Commission.
As editor of a rural weekly, he is well versed in the problems facing the
farmer, as well as the town resident.
Climate and resource's make Canada a great country in which to live -
good government has helped make Canada strong and free. Let's keep it
that way.
Liberal policies have provided maximum opportunities to develop a
sound, stilong economy with a standard of living second to .none. Let's

Mrs. Wilbur Turnbull, the sec-
retary reported on the March
'Meeting and read correspond-
ence. An invitation to attend a
meeting at 'Moncrieff on the
evening of May 15th was ac-
cepted. Guest speaker on . this
occasion will be the Superintend-
ent -of Nurses of Listowel Hos-
pital. Mrs. T. Dundee gave the
financial statement for the year
which showed a balance on. hand
of 198;90. The 'president thank-
ed the officers for their help
during the past year. Mrs. Wan.
H. Humphries gave the audi-
tors' report. The following were

Annual at Fordwich on, May 23:

Our •children are often referred
to as "Our most cherished pos-
session". Great changes have
taken place, Life is much more
easy but doubtful if more hap-
py. She spoke of the conserva-
tive side of our nature and the
creative part. 'Horne should be
the centre of discipline. We have
had high moral standards, it is
sup to us to see that the next
generation has the same (par-
entage. Mrs. :Humphries thank-
ed the speaker and Mrs. T. Dun-
das presented her with a gift on
behalf of the Tnsititute. Mrs.
Simpson conducted an installa-
tion service, when the officers
were installed for the coming

Monday aby singing hymn 286.
Carol Huisser'read the scripture
followed with a prayer by Dor-
othy Boyes. Hymn 252 was sung
and the pulipose was repeated.
We sang iihe 'C.'G.LT, hymn. 15
girls answered the roll ea'll and
next 'week we are going to have
a verse with "Spirit" for the
roll call. The minutes were read
and adopted. Mrs. Boyes led' us
in our ,Mission Study with a
story on "Korea". Lunch was
served by 1 -Helen Boyes and Faye
Blue. We closed -with "Taps"
and the Benediction.
