Hensall Kinettes Meet
Mrs. ,Harold Knight was host-
ess at her home for the meeting
of the IKinette Club, Mrs. John
Fleal, viceapres., presided, when
plans to raise money were dis-
cussed. The club plans to enter-
tain the men in February. .
Mrs. Don Joynt was appoint-
ed to make arrangements for
the' same. Mrs. George Sawyer
was appointed treasurer to re-
place ,Mrs. Angus MacLean, who
is taking up residence in Paris.
IMrs. Frank 'Pearce was received
into membership. Members gave
Mrs. Frank Ellwood their reci-
pes to be published in forthcom-
ing 'bulletins. It was decided to
present a baby spoon to each

W.M.S. and W.A.
The January meeting of the
W.M.S. and W.A. of I4gmond-
vlle United Church was`:held in
the church, 'basement on Wed-
nesday, Jan. 9 with, a splendid
attendance. Mrs. Durst, W. A.
'President was in change of the
opening exercises, the :shi'ginig
of the W.A. theme song .'• and a
poem "Another Year" read by
,Mrs. Durst. Mrs. D. Wallace,
W. A. Secretary, read the min-
utes of the December meeting
and also read the annual report.
Mrs. Jas. Hay, retiring treasur-
er of the W. A. gave her annual
report, and the ladies of our W.
A. are 'to be congratulated for
their work in raising the splend-
id amount of snoney which was
presented in this report.
The W.M.S.I' Pres., Mrs. Alex
Pepper was in charge of the
next part of the meeting which
opened 'with the singing' of part
of the hymn, "In
Christ there is
�
no (East or West". The minutes
of the December" meeting and
the annual report were read by'
the (Secretary. Mrs. W. F. Mc-
Millan retiring Treas, of the
WMS gave a most
W.M.S.encourag-
ing

ing report, stating that $383.50
had been sent to Presbyterial
Treasurer during 1957.
The officers for 1957 for
both WMS and W.A. were in-
stalled in separate installation
services by [Dr. Semple. Follow-
ing• these impressive services,
Dr. Semple gave. `a very inspir-
ing, devotional message. The
WMS and W. A. stand for fel-
lowship. Where we have true
religion we 'have fellowship.
Across the'years we have had a
link of fellowship in our midst.
People councilling and praying
together are helping to ...make
the world better. Dr. Semple
suggested we read the chap. 12
of Acts to get our true picture
of the result of prayer. This
part of the aneeting was closed
with prayer by Dr. Semple. N.
Following Or. 'Semple's mes-
sage WMS 'business was con-
ducted. The offering was receiv-
ed and dedicated. A very en-
joyable part of the meetinv was
the presentation from the WMIS
'of a lovely copy of the Revised
Version of the New Testament
to ,Mrs. W. F. McMillan, who has
retired after :35 years of faith-
ful service as Treasurer of the
W1VLS. This presentation was
made by Miss Rena 'McKenzie,
who in her appropriate and sin-
cerely spoken address, expres-
sed the feelings of all the mem-
bers.
The W. A. President, .Mrs.
Durst, presided over the remain-
ing 'part of the meeting. Mrs.
Jas. 'Hay, retiring Treasurer of
the W. A. was given a hearty
vote of thanks for her good
work. (Business was conducted
regarding the annual congrega-
tion supper to be held at 6.30
on Friday, J•an, 25th. Other
business matters were discussed
and the meeting closed with the
hymn "90 God Our help in ages
Past" and the W. A. closing
prayer.
Following the meeting the
1957 programs were distributed.
Membership fees were collected
by the treasurers and secretar-
ies of both societies. -A social
time was enjoyed with lunch
served by the hostess, Mrs. R.
McGeoch, and Mrs. A. Brown,
convener of Group 2, W.A. and
her assistants.
