Rev. R. A. Brook conducted the
-erricee in the United 'Church on
Sunday. The choir an two .veiny ap-
propriate anthems, "Walking With
God," Mies Florence Welsh soloist.
In the evening Mrs. Hess sang the
solo in "Heavenly Love Abiding,"
and Mrs. G. M. Drysdale and MIrs.
Hess sang a duet.
Young People's Union -
The regular meeting of the Young
People's ,Union was held on Monday
.-vening under the leadership of the
devotional committee with Miss Ruth
k presidin . The Scripture lesson
was read by Mfr, Edison Forest and
Miss Elva McQueen led in prayer.
The minutes of the 'previous meeting
were read and adopted and the roll
tailed Mies Bella Smele favored with
a delightful solo, "I Knorr that Miy
Redeemer Laves." Mr. Carey loyal
very ably .gave the devotional talk and
this was followed by a Bible contest
ou the Christmas Story. 'lite singing

Mr. Stanley Walter has returned to
his duties at the Bank of Montreal,
Parker, after a very pleasant visit

Sunday were conducted by Mr, Ron-
ald Davidson of Knox College, Tor-
onto.. The choir sang two beautiful
anthems, "Haat Thou Not Known,"
and Lead Me Lard.

Donald Willard, who bus been em-
ployedwith Mi'. H. 0. Dayman for
the past few years as delivery boy,
has accepted a position with Mr.
Harry MacMillan in the butcher
shop, Robert Sangster has taken the
position at Mr. Dayman's groceteria.
Mission Circle Elects Officers--
The
fficers-The Mission. Circle of the United
Church held their regular monthly
meeting at the home of Miss Mary
Goodwin on Friday evening. Follow-
ing the supper hour the program rip-
ened by singing "Love Divine All
Love Excelling," followed by "Our
Mission Circle Motto." The Scripture
was read by _Miss Margaret Tudor
and Miss Ruth Brook led in prayer,

read an interesting story, Miss Doug -

On Tuesday evening the members
of the Ladies' Aid and their husbands
enjoyed a fowl supper in the base-
ment of the chuirch. Ater the supper
a splendid program„ which consisted
of a play/readings, songs, dialogues
and a coronet solo, were very much
enjoyed.
Young People's Meeting
The regular meeting of the Young
People's Society of Carmel ('htn'olt
was held on Monday evening with
Miss Nene Hoggarth presiding, and
opened by singing the theme song.
"The Call of Christ." Miss Beryl
Phatf led in prayer and the Scripture
was read by Miss Maxine Purdy. The
devotional talk on "The Apostle's
Creed" was very ably given by Mr.
Al Kerslake. Misses Lois and Marlon
MacLaren favored with a duet "He
Keeps Me Singing. Mrs. W. A. Mac-
Laren accompanied on the piano. The
roll was called and the business dis-
cussed. and Mr. Al Kerslake was ap-
pointed as a delegate to attend the
Presbytery meeting to be held in
Clinton Tuesday, Dec. 12th. The offer-
ing was received and the hymn, "We
Have Heard a Joyful Sound," was.
sung: Mr. James Mustard then gave
the topic on "Jungle Tales" which
was very interesting. The meeting
closed by singing "Abide With Me,"
followed by the benediction.
Miss Elizabeth Murray. who has
been visiting with her sister Milts
Hannah Murray returned to her
home in Milwaukee on Sunday.

on Friday evening sponsored by the;
Herman Citizen's Band was well pat-
ronized. The Philomel Ensemble of
London provided excellent entertain-
ment during the evening, assisted by
local talent.

The euchre and dance held in the
hall last Friday night was well attend-
ed. Prize wieners were: Ladies' most
games, Miss Alda Williamson; lone
hands, Mrs. James Aitcheson; men's
Most games, Mr. Thomas Carter; lone
hands, Harold Bolton. After lunch a
few hours 'were spent in dancing to
the Agar -Collins orchestra, These
euchres and dances are held every
two weeks. They give good prizes,
good lunch. good music and every one
