The Blyth public school will pre•
sent a concert in memorial hall en
Dec. Sth at 8 p.m. The programme
will consist of choruses.. drills,
dances, dialogues, pantomime, and a
rhythm band when the children will
read their parts from the musk:. You
will enjoy this concert. Every child
is taking part. The proceeds are in
aid of the red cross, The teachers
responsible for the training of the

A large crowd were in town Sunday
to view the remains of the recent fire
which occurred last week.
Mr. D. Ewan is suffering from sev-
ere Mune on face and hands when he
was knocked down by falling walls,
but is working around as usual. Mr.
W. Griffiths is repairing the house.

Ret-. A. Menzies delivered a very
fine sermon on Sunday morning, The
choir was assisted by Mr. Dunn from
the West, who sang a very beautiful
solo. Next Sunday the usual white
gift service will be held when the
Sunday School will assemble in the
auditorium of the church.

have got moved to their new home,
which they recently purchased from
Mr. John Jenkins, We wish to extend
a welcome to Mr, and Mrs. Fowler,
and hope they enjoy many years of
happiness and prosperity in this
neighborhood.

boy visited on Sunday at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Audrey Knox.
Nurse Kathleen Beacon has been
in charge of Mrs. Ball in Londesboro.
Mrs. Ball, we understand. is getting
along nicely and we hope for a com-
plete recovery.

Robert Watson.
Mrs. Leo Watt visited her aunt
Miss Johnston (of Walton) in the
Seaforth Hospital on Sunday.
Friday was a holiday in the school
as the teacher. Mrs. Arthur Colson,
attended the convention in Clinton.

the hone of the former's daughter

Mr, and Mrs, Graydon Neil and
Murray, of Sumnrerhlil, spent Sun-
day at the home of Mr, and Mrs.
Ward Knox.
We understand wedding bells were
again ringing for another ITarlock
boy when Mr. Stewart Beattie took
on himself the responsibilities of a
married man. We wish to extend con
gtatulations to Stewart and his bride,
and wish thele a long life of health,
happiness and prosperity.
There died in the West Mr, Robert
McDowel. His widow, formerly miss
Mary Little, and his brother, Mr.
John McDowel, accompanied the re-
mains to Blyth, where the funeral
was held from the C.N.R. station tc
the Union Cemetery. The pall -bearers
were MT, Robert McDonald. Wm,
Watson, John Watson, Edward Dow
gap, John Wells and Harvey Wells.
A good number of his old neighbors
and friends met at the cemetery to
pay their last respects to a former
I-Iullett boy who had been raised in
this neighborhood. He was laid tc
rest beside his first wife, who died
more than 40 years ago. Surviving
are his widow and two brothers,
James and Johnston, in the West.
We wish to extend sincere sympathy
to all the friends.
