Toronto General hospital. is doing
nicely after an operation and expects
to be home in a week.

DIES AT LEAMINGTON
One of Leamsington'•s best known
citizens, James D. Ainslie, 79, died at
his residence alter a short illness. He
had been blind since he was a boy
but lack of sight appeared to !handi-
cap him but 'very .slightly, so 'keenly
wore his other senses developed.
Mr. Ainslie taught music 'for many
years, and also sold pianos and org-
ans. He .was a horse dealer' for .some
years and it was said that he could
detect the color of an animal by
touch. When being driven in a car
bhrotegh the country the ,could invari-
ably state what the different iphtces
were that it was !passing.
His •wife died four years ago. Sur-
viving are three brothers and two
sisters, George A. and Joseph, of
Leamington; Andrew of Vancouver,
Mrs. Agnes Smith, nvtho resided with
hint, and Mrs, Bruce 'Itee)eeeu of
Detroit,
The 'late 14r. Ainslie was well
known here where he visited relatives.

at a miscellaneous shower hi honor
of Miss Sarah Whitmore, bride -elect.
A couple of hours were spent in
games, after which lunch was served.

happy years of wedded bliss, all left
for their homes, leaving had a pleas-
ant afternoon,

The Ladies' Club of Tuckersnrith
held their November meeting at the
home of Mrs. Fleteber Townsend.
There were thirty-two ladies pres-
ent, and the roll cell was answered
with the "Names of My First School
Teacher and Sunday School Teacher."
The meeting was in honor of the
grandmothers of the club and com-
munity, Misses Sara end Florence
Whitmore gave a fine piano duet and
readings were given by SIi's. Cole-
man Sr„ Mrs, Cecil Oke, Mrs. Lands.

end. A grandmother's flower garden
contest was conducted by Mrs. Flet-
cher Townsend. After discussion of

prizes were given, Alex invited his
guests to the dining room where 0

ed, then all left for their homes.
