Mrs. John Murdoch, South Rich- mond street, was highly honored last week by being visited by Mrs. Mitch- ell F, Hepburn of St. Thomas, accom- panied by Mrs. Jack MacNeill. Rev. R. A Brook conducted com- munion service Sunday morning in the United Church, and also delivered a very fine sermon at the evening ser vice. D. I. G. Smillie sang a solo en titled "The Lord's Prayer." The choir sang two anthems, "Orn' all in ail," and "Lord Let Me Serve Thee,' Huron Deanery Meets In St, Paul's Anglican Church - A. splendid meeting of the Huron Deanery was held in St. Paul's Ang- lican Church on Thursday with rep• resentatives from every church total- ling eighteen. The ladies of the church served very sumptuous meals to those present. Rev, blunter of Madoe conducted servi:es in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday and the choir sang two anthems, "I Will Extol Thee" and "When Shadows Fali." Mrs, W, A. ldaaLaren soloist, MIr. Mrs. Hedden and Mrs. Hess sang a beautiful clnet, "Have you been In the Garden with Jesus." Mr. Dickinson gave an inter- esting address on "Missionary and Maintenance Committee Work." The hymn, "Fight the Good Fight," was sung, and Rev. A, R. Stone gave a very fine address on his work in Japan and illustrated with very inter- esting lantern slides. Mr. Claude Blowes and Mr. W. 0. Goodwin fav- ored with a duet "Jesus Lover of my Soul." Hymn, "Abide with Me," was sung and Rev. A. R, Stone pronounce ed the benediction. The Sunday School and other organizations of the church recently purchased a new lan- tern on which the slides were shown. It was operated by Mr. Bob Hess.
