Mrs, Raymond': Nott and daughters Nancy and Sally and Miss Shirley Oldfield, were in Niagara Falls, N.Y., last week visiting their' aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. J. Colquhoun. Miss Florence Elford who has been spending her holidays with her par- ents, Rev. and Mrs. James. Elford, leaves on Saturday for Bella Cools,' B.C., to resume her duties as principal of the Indian day school.. Mr, and Mrs. 3. H. Long of Brant- ford spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Porteous. Miss Shirley Robinson of Ethel was a guest last week with her cousin Miss Shirley Oldfield. Miss Helen Carlson, R.N. of the Ontario Hospital, Whitby, was the guest ot Miss Florence Elford over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Aiken, sou and daughter and mother„ of East Am- herst. New York, and Mrs. Sandford, of Westwood, New Jersey, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs, A. L. Porteous. Mrs. Sandford will visit for a few weeks with her brother. Mr, and Mrs. Chas. Hamilton and daughter Dorothy and son John of Toronto visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John McKenzie. Mr. and Mrs, E. W. EJige and son John of Toronto spent the week -end with the former's father, Mr. H. B. Edge, and sister Miss Josephine Edge, at the Royal Apartments. Miss Abbie Seip from Seaforth spent the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Richards, and was able to attend the party in honor of Mrs, Robinson's 75th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Neubauer and daughter Dorothy of Niagara .Falls, N.Y., returned home on Saturday af- ter spending a week with Mr, and Mrs. Wnr. Oldfletd, Mr, W. G. Hart of Wroxeter spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Hart. Mrs. A. W. Moore was in Goderich on Monday morning attending the wedding of her niece, Miss Gertrude Evans, to Mr. G. •F, Whaley, of Peterboro. Mrs. Langford of London is visiting with Mr. and Mrs: Bert Shaw. Mrs. Woods and daughter Madge of Buffalo are visiting Miss Clara Pink- ney. The C.W.L. are holding a home baking sale and afternoon tea on Sept. 9. DUBLIN Word was received in the village of the death of Mr. Louis Wall, a for- mer resident of the village, who died in Brantford hospital at the age of 52 years. Mr. and Mrs. John Walsh accomp- anied by their son, Brother Martin of the Presentation Order, Montreal, and two daughters, spent Monday at the Martyr's Shrine, Midland. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hanly are sailing this week for a visit to Belfast, Ire- land, their native home city, It is 28 years since Mr. HanIy has visited Ireland. They will be absent for six weeks. Stackhouse gave two of her readings which were very much appreciated. Mrs. Bueh- anan invited the club to Clinton for the September meeting. The meet- ing closed with singing.- Lunch was served by hostess and friends. Mr. and -Mrs. John McIntosh and Jean of Toronto. after spending two weeks with friends, returned to their hone on Monday. Mayfield— Mr. Charles Parke w. -! towtr thresherman of the Barfield district, died there on Monday after a len,;thY illness. He was born in New York State, July 18 1858. and moved with his family to Tuekersmlth Township when two years of age. residing on the farm at present owned by Mr. W. V, Jefferson, He moved to Bayfield when he was 21. In 1882 he was mar- ried to Catharine Johnston of Bay- field. He is survived by his wife. five daughters and four sons, Mrs. Louise King of Sarnia; Mrs. Buelah Smith, London: Mrs. Belle Reid. Varna: Mrs. Clara, Featherston. Bayfield, and Mrs. Margaret Larson of Aldergrove B.C.; William and Jack Parker, Bayfield; Percy Parker, of Nekoma, N.D., and Chris Parker, of tecaim, Sask. Ito was also survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary Cox, North Dakota: Mrs. Lettie Morta, Milton, N.D., and William Parker: of Spruce Lake. Sask. He was a member of L.O.L. No. 21.
