collarbone on Monday afternoon when
she fell from her tricycle near the
swimming pool on the highway.

Much sympathy is felt for two of
our young hien east of here when
they got lost and came too grief north
of Seaforth last- Friday, but luckily
escape severe injury, -although the
.car suffered the damage.

The community wasgreatly shock-
ed to 'know sof the very sudden death
of a much respected citizen in the
person of Mr, George 'McOlinchey„
who passed away Saturday. His death
came as a great shock to his family:
Much sympathy is extended to his
now bereaved widow and 'family. The
funeral was held Monday from his
late residence and 'lamely attended.
'Mr. and Mrs. Latham and little son
Billy in company with Miss Beatty of
don spent Sunday. with Mrs. L.
Beatty and daughter Edith. Sorry to
say Mrs. Beatty is not as well as we
would like to report but we hope for
a speedy recovery.

making extensive improvements 'to his

Mrs. S. Cleave was in Kincardine
on Sunday to call on her sister who
is seriously ill.

The June meeting of the Chisel
burst W. M. S. was held at the home
of Mrs. W. J. Pybus with a good at-
tendance, Meeting opened by singing
.1240, after which Mrs. Ferguson led
in prayer. Roll call was answered by
your favorite flower. The Scripture
readings were read by Ruby Dal-
rymple, Mrs. Cudnlore and Jean
Venner. A missionary talk was then
given by Mrs, Layton of Exeter
which was much enjoyed. A short
paper on "Should Canada Admit
Refugees" was given by members of
Group 2. A duet was then given by
Mrs. Pybes, and Mrs. Thos, Brint-
nell which was :much enjoyed by all.
The meeting closed with prayer.

casion of their anniversary on Mon-
day, .June 10, was the firsttime in
years that their family of four sons
and two 'daughters were ail together:

s,ut who spent 113 years in California
has been living in Clinton since re-
turning. 'home last year. A reception
was held from 2 to 4 o'clock on Mon-
day afternoon and in the evening a
diluter was held for the family. The
bride and 'groom of sixty years ago
were presented by the family with a
beautiful basket of sixty roses, ex-
quisitely decorated with .golden tulle
and gold lettering. The wedding cake
centred the table. Flowers tastefully
adorned the rooms, At the time of
their fiftieth wedding anniversary Mr.
and Mrs. Vodden were living on their
farm a mile south and west of Lon-
desboro. Shortly afterwards they re-
tired to Clinton. They lived on the
Sth and 9th concessions of Hallett all
their married life. Mrs: Vodden was
'formerly Elizabeth Waite of the 1:1th
concession, Hullett They were mar-
ried on June 18, 1879, by Rev. Janes
Pritchard, Presbyterian minister of,
Auburn. The 'bridesmaid was the late
Mrs. James Graves, formerly, Eliza-
beth Ratcliffe, and the best man was
the .hride's twin 'brother, Wm. ,Waite,
now living in Goderich, who was
present on Monday. The members of
the fancily are: Elizabeth (Mrs. Rob-
ert Scott •of Hullett near Londes-
•boro) William J. Vodden of Goder-
ich Twp, Albert W. Vodden, Lond-
eshoro: Robert H. Vodden of Clin-
ton; Ernest Vodden of 'Madden, Alta.
and Florence (Mrs, W. R. Nimmo of
Tor,altu,) There are five grand-

A gloom was cast over, the com-
nutnity.on Saturday, June 17th, in the
passing on of, a dear friend and
neighbor, Mr, 'George MMtClinehey.

and was one of a fancily of thirteen,

where he had since resided. He leaves

pen, anis Mt.. Ivan Steckle, Bayfield.

'Stanley. The funeral which was large-
ly attended was held from his late
'home on :M'onday afternoon. Services
were conducted iby. the Rev. Peters.
