BRUCEFIELD
Katherine Moffatt, beloved wife of
Bert McKay, Brucefield, died on Sat-
urday in her 413ird year after an illness
of one year. She was a daughter of the
late John Moffatt and Hannah Miles
and was born in Tuckersmith on the
ilath of July, '1596. She had lived her
whole life in the Brucefield district,
Bert McKay and Katherine Moffatt
were married in September, 11914.
They have farmed in different loca-
tions and for the past few years at
Stanley township, London road, one
utile' north of the village. Besides her
husband there survive two brothers,
Lawrence Moffatt, of Regina, Sask.;
Alfred of Kippers, !Ontario, and four
sisters, Mrs. A. McCartney, Tuxford,
Sask.; Mrs, D. !Kilpatrick, Teedale,
Alberta; Mrs. T.
Armstrong, .au
rich;
and Mrs. J. McBeath Staftley. The
funeral was held on Monday from
'Brucefield United Chureh, the service
being conducted' by Rev. W. A. Brem-
ner, a former pastor of the church,
and Rev. Mir. Wright, pastor. The fu-
neral was largely attended. Pallbear-
ers were Thomas Baird, G. Horton,
Hugh Berry, Alton 'Johnston, Walter
Moffatt and A. Z'apfe.

Jean and Mrs. Carsten Haugh and
children of Toronto are visiting Mr.
and Mrs. C. Haugh.
Mrs. E. Munn and Aileen of Hen-
sall spent a few days with Mr. and

A pretty wedding took place in
Trinity _ Anglican Church on Satur-
day, Apr. 8th at 9.310 a.m. when Rev.
Mr, Graham united in marriage Miss
Maude Parker, elder daughter of Mr,
and airs. 3. Parker of Bayfield an•ci
Mr. Frederick Stuart 'Weston .son of
Mr. Wm. Weston and the tate Mrs.
Weston. Miss Doris Featherstone,
cousin of the 'bride, acted as brides-.
maid and :Mr. Chas. Parker, 'brother
'of the 'bride was .groomsman. After
the wedding ceremony a dainty wed-
ding breakfast was served at the
home of the 'bride's parents Miss
Ella M'cKa} and Miss Lottie Higgins,
friends of the bride, assisted in serv-
ing. Mr. and Mrs, Weston are spend-
ing a short honeymoon in Detroit be-
fore taking op their home in Payfield,
where a host of friends extendbest
wishes to the popular young couple.
Mrs. John Pollock—
There passed away at' the home of
her son-in-law, Mr. Geo. Holman of
Goderich, on April 10th, Mrs. John
Pollock, one of the oldest and most
highly respected residents of Bay-
field. Mrs, Pollock's maiden name was
Mary Joie Castle. She was the only
daughter of Mr, Geo. Castle, once
reeve of Stanley Twp., and ryas' born
on the Castle homestead on the San-
ble Line in April, 149516. In 11383 she
was married to the late 'John Pollock,
at one time reere of 'Bayfield. Mrs.
Pollock teas one of the oldest memb-
ers of Trinity Anglican Church. Her
kindly cheerful disposition endeared
her to the whale community, in which
she lived and she will be greatly
missed in the community, airs. Poll-
ock is survived by a family of one
son and three daughters, Maude (Mrs,
Geo. Holman, Goderich), Florence

Marie, and Clifford, of London. The
funeral seas held Wednesday, April
il2th, front her late home in Bayfield,
her rector, Rev. J. Graham, conduct-
ing the services. Interment in Bay-
field Cemetery. The following acted

Keegan, W, Parker, H. McGregor, J.
Castle, A. E. Featherstone.
Col. Woodrow, President of the
Blue Water Highway and Mr. W. D.
Ferguson, secretary of Sarnia, were in
Bayfield on Monday afternoon and ad-
dressed a meeting of the ratepayers of
the village and outlined the program
of their activities advertising the 'Blue
Water Highway to the tourist trade
for the coming season.
