2, cups milk
2 cup maple syrup
3 eggs
Heat milk and maple syrup to-
gether to •boiling point but do not
allow to boil. Pour over the eggs
which 'have been well beaten, add a
few* grains 'af salt. and strain into cus-
tard cups. Set cups in warm water
and bake until custard is final. Cool
and turn. Serve with maple syrup if
desired,

Beatty is under the doctor's care, but

Mr. and Mrs, E. Chuter spent Sun-
day with their daughters in London.
Sunday visitors at Mrs. Austin's
were Mr. J. Seeley, Mr. and Mrs. C.
F. Warden of London, Mr. and Mrs.

Seaforth.
Mr. .Elliott Chuter is in London
where he has secured a position.
Mrs. 5. Beatty had the misfortune
to fall and sprain her wrist, but is
improving as well as can be expected.
Mrs. J. W. Reid is in Seaforth with
her sister, Mrs, W. Fee, who is under
the doctor's care.
Mrs, F. Weekes was called to
Wroxeter owing to the illness of her
niece, Mrs. W. McDonald.
We are sorry to report Mrs. J.
Rathwell is not improving as rapidly
as her friends would like.

Monday with Mrs. Leo Fortune.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Garner of London
visited Mrs. 'Jahn McLennan and Mr,
and Mrs, W. H. Sholdice on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roach of
Toronto called on friends in town on
Monday, while attending the funeral
of the 'late Mrs. William Nevin, form-
erly Miss Bridget Roach of Dublin,
whose remains were brought from
Toronto to St. Patrick's Cemetery,
Duiblin, onMonday.
Mr. 'James Mose, of Ripley, form-
eoly of McKillop, visited Mr, W. H.
S'holdi•ce on Monday,
Mr, and Mrs. Frank Smith and Al-
lan and Douglas and Mrs. Smith's
mother, Mrs. I•Ierdsman, all of Port
Colborne, .spent the week end with
Mr. Smith's sister, Mrs. H. .R. Scott.
Mrs, Smith remained as her young
son, .D'ottglas Smith, was taken ill
with appendicitis while here and un-
derwent an operation at Scott Mem-
orial Hospital Sunday night and is
recovering nicely.
Mrs. Clifford Webster of Detroit
visited over the week end• with her
parents, Mr, and • Mrs, Fred Reeves,
her 'brother Clarence, and other rela-
tives, -
Miss 'Elva Saundereock of London
visited Mrs. R. Wallace last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Moffat and.
daughter Donna, of Prince Aubert,
Sask., and Mr, Lorne Moffat of Re-
gina, were the guests of Mr. and
Mrs, R. H. Sproat.
Mrs. Joe Eckart and two daughters
Geraldine and Anna, have gone to
Spanish, and will return with Mr.
Eokart for the Easter holidays.

Messrs, Con and Fred Eckert and

Cronin, •daughter of Mr. Fred Eck-
ert, have returned smm Chicago af-
ter, attending the funeral of the late
Rev. J. M. Eokart, and were there in
time to spend three days at his bed-
side 'before he died at 2.10 'Sunday
morning.

Miss Mary and 'Mr. Aubrey Farqu-
har entertained a number of their
friends to a progressive euchre party
one evening recently and the prizes
were given'to, ladies, first, Miss Gilk-
inson; gents, first, Mr, Will McKen-
zie; ladies, consolation, Miss 'Gladys
jarrott; gents, consolation, Mr. Wes-
ley Jones, After the :games were•over
and Prizes given, Miss Farquhar in-
vited 'her guests to the 'dining -room
where the table was most beautifully
decorated and a delicious lunch was
served by the hostess. After lunch
dancing was enjoyed, the Music being
-furnished by Miss Cochrane and. Mr.
Farquhar till the wee stria' hours of
the morning. Then each one thanked
Miss 'Mary and Mr, Aubrey for the.
most enjoyable evening.
KIPPEN
Miss Audrey Cochrane entertained
a number of young people at her
home on Wednesday evening to a
progressive euchre party. Prizes were
given to, ladies, first, Mrs. Wesley
Jones; gents, first, Mr. Aubrey Far-
quhar; iladies, consolation,Miss
Gladys Jarrott. After the prizes were
given, Miss Cochrane invited 'her
guests to the dining room . where a
delicious lunch was served by the
hostess and the table 'being beautiful-
ly decorated in mauve and yellow.
After lunch Miss Cooh•rane invited
her guests to the living room where
music and games were played. Each
one thanked Miss Cochrane 'for the
pleasant evening. . •
TUCKERSMITH
An amusing comedy, "Simple Si-
mon Simple," was cleverly staged on
Friday evening in the Red Tavern
School House by the young people
of School Section INo. .9, Tucker -
smith. The performance was well
attended and very much enjoyed.
The play was presented under the
direction of Mrs. G. Handley and
during intermission Elsie Drover on
behalf of the cast presented Mrs.
Handley with a bouquet of Spring
flowers. During intermission Miss
Janet Handley tap danced and Hazel
McLachlan and Robert McLachlan
played a duet on the guitar. The cast
included Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Forsyth,
Mrs Chas, Eyre, Elsie Drover, Helen
Upshall, Thelma Elgie, Hazel Mc-
Lachlan, Robert McLachlan, Russell
I-Iodgert, Art Jackson.
McKILLOP
A very enjoyable evening was spent
playing cards at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Lorne Webster, on Tuesday ev-
ening, April 4ith, Mrs. John Glew,
Mrs. Wilson Campbell and a few oth-
er friends and neighbors gathered and
presented the newlyweds, \Ir. and
Mrs. Robert Watson, with .a Coleman
gas iron and other lovely kitchen
utensils. The groom gave a very suit-
able reply, after which lunch was
served.

Mrs. Robert Carnochan and sister
Miss (Verna Graves spent the week
end in Detroit with their sister, Mrs,
Wes ton.
Mr, and Mrs. Lull' If Hamilton
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.

Presibyterian Church of Cromarty.
The play entitled "A Ready Made
Family" will be presented by the
people of St. Paul's Anglican Church
of Kidkton.

their Easter meeting Friday after-
noon, April 7th, in the. basement of
the church, A special Easter program
is being ,provided. Group No. 4 will
have change .and lunch will be served.

ter spending some months at the Le-
vack mines,
The Club of Progress will hold its
meeting on Friday evening, April 7th,
in the school house. Au excellent pro -
grant is 'being prepared. The speakers

come and enjoy a pleasant evening.
