lett' are preparing for a Christmas
program consisting of pantomime,

Conservative "convention to select a
Provincial leader.
We are glad to report that Mrs.
Jean Mchinley who has been sick
for the past week is 'improving.

morning for assembly. Seats are not

The town council 'held its regular
December meeting on Monday even
ng with all members present. Boxing
Day holiday' will he Tuesday, D'ee
257th,.it was decided. Nominations will
be held on Friday, Dec. 23rd. Council
adjourned after ashort meeting to
the statutory meeting which weld 'be
held on Thursday evening, Dec, dt5.
ALERT MISSPON BAND
The regular meeting of the Alert
Mission Band of 'North Side United
Church was held on Tuesday with
Janie Moffat presiding. Three of the
younger. members sang a Christmas
carol. Edna Gallop sang a solo and
Betty Tebbut read the Scripture. Mrs
Parsons led in prayer. Ronny Knight
took alp the collection. There was a
girls' chorus, a hymn, and Mrs. Par-
sons gave the topic.
WALTON
The 'regular meeting of Mission
Band was held on.Sunday at' 1111 a.m.
Thirty-five responded to the roll ,call,
Ruth Cummings presided and meet-
ing was opened by singing ,"Tell Ale
the Story of 'Jesus," Scripture, the
Christtnas story. from Matthew, was
read by Earl Coutts, 'after which Mrs
Kirkby led in prayer, followed by the
Lord's prayer in unison. A. Christmas
chorus followed and the story of the
first Christmas was read, which had
'been written specially for the child-
ren. Then a Christmas exercise, taken
from December World Friends, was
presented by the pupils, entitled, A
White Gift Service."
