w, 'erected ,by fad Daly. From left to right are Sylvester Allen, Andy Calder, Edmund Daly, Rae .Holmes,
and at the',ack are Carl Knight and Ian MscTavish, This tower is the first of its kind in 0ntanio and has
the appearance o' the giant steel towers of the modern high-power +lfroaticasting stations. It is of wood
construction and was made by Ed Daly and ,Ian Mac rs••+sh in about a week's time. The aerial will be sus-
pended from the top of the tower and they Intend to use it for experimenting with .various types of .aerials
to increase the range of VE91ZA. This station has been heard in all parts elf the world;' as far away as A•u.s-
tralia. Some idea of the Dower radiated from an aer al while broadcasting can.be had from the fact that a
small flashlight bulb, can be made to ,glow from the wwrent in the air near the aerial. The direction of
'broadcast can be controlled to a certain extent by the position of the aerial.
