BLYTH Stricken with a 'heart attack, Rev, Dr. R. W. Ross of Toronto, formerly of St. Andrew's United Church, Lon- don, collapsed Sunday morning in pulpit of Durtia, Centre 'United 'Church at London. Dr. , Ross, who. was to have taken over the services for. the day, was overcome midway 'through his sermon. He was removed to the home of Dr, 'Nelson George, a 'close -friend, who had (been in the con- gregation, and remained there until late in the afternoon, Mrs. 'Ross and son, 'J'ohn, who had brave'lled on to Blyth to visit a sister of Dr. Ross's, who was ill, were •called 'bac'k to Lon- don. Mr. 'Karl Bandy, who has been in the local lbranch of the Provincial Bank for the past four years, left for Torottte on Wednesday where 'he has 'been transferred. MELADY CLEARY St. John's Church, 'Kirkfield, was the scene of a wedding ceremony when Miss Regina Mary Gleary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Robert Cleary, was united in marriage to Mr. Francis L. Melady, son of Mr, Joseph Melady, Seaforth. Gladioli and. 'fern adorned the altar at which solemn nuptial mass was celebrated 'by the bride's ,brother, Rev. A. .L. Cleary, assisted by Rev. H. E. Arohant'beault as deacon and Rev. B.• Lee as sub -deacon. Rev. C. C. lvIcCarney was master of ceremonies and Rev. W. McNamara of Victoria Hatibor was present in the sanctuary. The choir, under the direction of Miss M. Sullivan, sang M•ontani s Missa Brevis and Mrs. C. R. Cough- lin, sister of the 'bride, presided at the organ. Given in marriage 'by her father, the bride was gowned in white lace over satin in princess dines ,Falling in a long circular train. A white satin 'halo held the silk embroidered finger-tip veil and she carried a :bouquet of talisman roses. The 'bridesmaid, Miss Gladys Lang, Sarnia, wore a redingote dress of flow- ing sheer pink organza with matching shoulder length veil and pied: satin slippers and ,carried'briarcliff roses, Master Leo Coughlin in white satin as ring -bearer led the bridal proces- sion and Mis.s Mary Coughlin in hy- drangea -blue floor -length frilled or- gandy with matching poke -,bonnet and slippers, carrying a variegated nose- gay, was flower girl. The groom was attended by Mr. F. V. Cleary, and the ushers were Ri- chard Coughlin and Francis Clancy, A reception was held at Kirkfield Lodge at which the bride's mother received in navy ,sheer with matching. accessories and a corsage of roses. A navy ensemble was chosen .by the bride for travelling. After a trip to Montreal, Buffalo and New Yonk, Mr, and Mrs. Melady will live in Sudbury, CONSTANCE. Mr. Wallace Haugh was operated on For appendicitis on Wednesday in Clinton hospital, • BAYFIELD Mrs, Janet Delgaty- -It -is our sad- duty this weela to chronicle the death of the late .Mrs, Janet Delgaty, formerly of the Bron- son Line, Stanley, and dater of Bay- field. She was the 'widow of the late Robert Delgaty who predeceased her six years ago. Mrs. Delgaty was born in Duns, Berwickshire, Scotland, in the year 1861, 'being one of a family of twelve, five 'boys and seven girls, Her father -was the late William Del- gaty and her ntother Alice •Christison; all of Scotland. In the year ,118133 Mrs, Delgaty with her sister Margaret set out on the then rather adventurous journey to -Canada to visit their 'uncle, the late Robert Delgaty Sr, and his family, residing, then on the old homestead on the Bronson Line This great adventure of the two girls proved to he more than a mere visit to Janet, dor in the month of S'eptem- ber of that year she was united in marriage to Robert, second son of Robert Delgaty Sr. To this ,union was born Isabelle, now Mrs. Thomas Westlake, with whom she resided during the last five years, during which time she was an invalid suffer- ing from -the effects of a stroke •suff- ered five years ago. About three weeks ago she had another stroke which resulted in her .death, Mrs. Delgaty was a -woman of sterling character, possessed of true Scotch hospitality and above all with a. child- like faith in her Saviour. She was a member of .Knox Presbyterian Church, Bayfield, and her pastor, the Rev, G. 'Ped -die, conducted the fiuneral service, speaking -from the text, "There remaineth therefore a rest for the people of God." Besides her daughter and her husiband and two grandchildren Keith anti Gordon Westlake, there are six elf her 'broth- ers and sisters that remain to mourn her loss. Two of these are in this country, Tom of the West, and James of Toronto, who was present at the funeral. Our special sympathy goes out to her daughter who has given her every possible care during tate long years of invalidism. The pall- bearere were Messrs. Wm. Tough (Clinton), Jack Stanbury'(St. Cathar- ines), Sam Rohrer, Clifford Talbot, Joe Richardson, and Archie .Arnt- strong. Interment was made in Bay- field cemetery. The sympathy of the community was expressed in the large attendance of friends, relative. and neighbors 'at the funeral service held et the hone of her son-in-law, Mr, Thomas Westlake. •Flonat trib- utes were from Mrs. Dr, Brown, 'Clin- ton, Iowa; 'Miss Fairbairn, Detroit, Mrs. Hendrick and family, Detroit, Mrs. Burnside and family, New York, :Mrs. Day, Detroit. Mr. an•d Mrs. Gordon Prior, Miss Prior and Mr. Donald Prior of 'Lon- don are spending a few weeks in ,the Peck ,cottage. Mrs. Ross Beattie and daughter of Saskatoou have returned to their home, Mr. A. E. Erwin and Mr. F. Keegan spent Tuesday in Seaforth. Mr, F. A. Edwards is seriously ill. 'Mrs. K. Moorhouse .and Mary Jean are returning to London having spent the summer at their home in the village. Mrs. Jennings of London returned home this week after spending several weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Churchward, Mr, .and Mrs. W. J.
