very enjoyable picnic on the school

races was held for pupils and the
older members of the section. Miss
Margaret E. Grieve, who has resign-
ed to teach near Hensali, was pres-

Mr. William Somerville of Lead -
bury mct with a nasty accident last
Thursday when -t tieing a .Toad of hay
into the barn on his :farm Several ribs
were fractured and his head and legs
injured. He went to move the hay
loader chain and one of the horses
became frightened, l'le fell across the
tongue of the hay rack and the horse'
kicked him ten .times. He was rescued
from his perilouspositionand taken
to Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth.
Another MdKillop farrier, Nlr. John
Aitcheson, had the misfortune Friday
to receive severe inijuries to his thigh
when -the whippie-tree ibroke and.
struck him, as he was taking in a load
of hay. He was removed 'to the Sea -
