Death of Thos. Win. Parlmer—
The death 'occurred at his heame

as . William Parinter, a prominent and
highly - respected iHensall busines,
man. Mr, iParlmer had 'been in poor
health for about two years but was
able to attend • to his business until
Saturday, 'Jam tand when his c•ondi-
don became serious and he rapidly
sank. He passed away On Monday
froin a cancer in his stomath. He w -as
the only son of the late NM. and Mrs.
Thomas Parlmer Sr. and was .born at
Crediton .65.iyears ago. When a- young
boy the family moved •to Hensall
'where tr, Parlmer spent his early
life. fide learned the tailoring trade
with the late Jahn Pope of Hensall.
Forty-one years ago he married His
Hannah Bella Wilson. Mr„ and Mrs.
Parlmer resided in North Dakota or
a time, also at Clinton and .Loncless
horo, hut most of their married life
was spent in 'Hensall. For a good
many years Mr.Parlmer condected a
grocery business here and. was very
popular with the publ.ic. He later sold
mit his bnsiness and travelled for a
Brantford .biscuit and candy .firin for
a. couple of years. Coming back to
• .Hensall he again start•ect in the groc-
ery business which he conducted
until two years ago when his health
began to fail. He. secined the con-
tract .fOr carrying the mail •tin 'Hen-
aall R.R. 2 a couple of year ago, In
December in :company with h•is son
Earl he started a .meat .business here,
making .a courageous effort tii carry
os in of failing health, He was a
Conservative hi politics. and a mem-
ber of the Hensall United Church.
For year, he sang in the -former

ter,. Mrs. Albert Whitesides of Kit,

his late home, Brock street, 'Henson,
on Wednesday a f ternoon, interment

The regular monthly meeting of

council chamber on Monday evening,

Loss of 'Polar Expedition
A despatch :from Londio.n, England,
says the cl.eath of Capt. Robert F.
Scott and the whole of his party who
took part in the South Polar expedi-
tion. is reported front New 'Zealand.
'1'lle steamer Terra Nova, which re-
turned to New Zealand on Sunday
from the (Antarctic !Ocean, Obtained
the following information; Captain
Scott reached the South Pole on the
13th• of January, anua. He found the
tent and records of .Captain %nark'
Amundsen. 'On the return journey the
whole southern party perished. Scott
died at rhe last camp, front exposure,
'during a 'blizzard, about the r2oth cvf
March, (1191112, about 1185 miles •from
his main base. At the same tinte there
died 'Dr. E. A. Wilson and 'Lieut
R. 'Bowers. Two others died .earlier;
,Captain L. E. (G. 10'ates, .died of eiX-

Evans, RiN., died ,accidentally 'on the
17th of IFebruary, ,of concussion of
