held in St. Andrew's United church
on Sunday morning, October 6th.
Quite a number of the ladies are
planning to attend the Presbyterial
convention which is being held in
Eliniville on Thursday, October 3rd.
The W. M. S. and WI. A. of St. An-
drew's United church held their Oc-
tober meeting at the home of Mrs.
Thos. Wiorkman of Tuckersmith on
Wednesday afternon.
St. Andrew's United Church intend
holding their anniversary services on
Sunday, October 13th, at 11 a.m. and
7.30 p.m. Rev. J. W. Herbert of
Hohnesville will be the guest speak-
er. Mr. Stanley Harrison, soloist in
Colborne Street United Church, Lon.
don, will' assist the choir.
.A. special rally of the Mission Cir-
cles is to be held in Ontario Street
Church, Clinton, on Friday evening,
October 4th, at 6.30. There are to be
two special speakers present and no
doubt quite a number of the girl's will
plan to attend.
The Busy Bees' 'Mission Circle
held their October ,meeting at the
home of Miss Jean Bell on 'Saturday
afternoon last. Beatrice Dayman
presided ,over the meeting. Isabel
Alexander read the Scripture lesson
from St. John's gospel, Olga Bell
read the devotional leaflet and Flor-
ence Thompson took the topic from
the Study Book. The meeting closed
with the repeating of the Mizpah
benediction in unison after which the
hostess served a dainty lunch.
Rev, and Mrs. E. F. Chandler, of
Kippen, announce the engagement of
their daughter, Halcyon Frances, to
Mr. Osborne Rutledge Littleford, of
London, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
O. H. Littleford, the' marriage to

Harvest Thanksgiving services
were held in St. John's Anglican
Church on Sunday, Ven. Archdeacon
Jones -Bateman in charge in the
morning and in the evening, the
Rev. John Thompson of Durham
preached a very fine sermon. Mrs.
Chuter presided at the organ, the
choir leading in the singing and in
the evening Mrs. Bandey of the Uni-
tes; Church 1Vlanse sang a beautiful
solo,
Rally Day service was held at the
Goshen United church on Sunday
morning. In the absence of the pas-
tor, the Rev. H. G. Bandey, who was
preaching in Bayfield, an inspiring
address was given by Mr. Colin
Campbell,
Anniversary services are being
conducted in Varna United church on
Sunday by Rev, William Mair• of
Thames Road and Rev. 11, C. Wilson
of A'iburn.
On the Thursday &ening following
a hot fowl supper will be served in
the church shed, followed by a con-
cert in the church, program by the
Lambeth double concert quartette.

will be withdrawn on Sunday morn -

church is holding anniversary ser-
vices morning and evening. Rev. Mr,
Lane. of North Street, Goderich, will
be in charge in the morning, and Rev,
Mr. Graik, of Victoria Street, Gode-
rich, during the evening. Speeial

toria Street church,

not held last Friday due to the eon-

at Goderich. Delegates present from

The eleventh animal convention o2
the IHuron Presbytery Young P'eo-
ple's Union was held in Victoria
Street United Church, Goderich, on
Friday last. There were seventy-
fiee young people registered when
the

evening rally there was an atten-
dance of 300.
Re'V. J. B. Moore, of Grand 'Bend,
addressed the convention on the
theme, "The National Council, and
the spiritual building of a new per,
son, a new country and a new
world."
After the recreation period and
dinner Bert Scott president of the
Hamilton Conference of the Young
People's Union, conducted the open
forum.
At the supper hour Rev. C. WI D.
Cosens of Clinton led the commun-
ity singing. Miss Ruth Simpson of
Kent Presbytery, and Hugh Ellis,
of Leamington, president of London
Conference Y. P, U., brought greet-
ings from their respective orgnaiza-
tions.

church work, and to develop leadem,

tery. The new president is Miss
Evelyn Dane, Gerrie; vice-president;
Jack Pitblado, of Colborne Town-
ship; secretaries, Miss M. Proeise,
Goderich and Sam 'Scott, Seaforth.
Among the resolutions adopted by
the young people was a lengthy one

were several dissenting vote -s, among•
young men, the -resolution was pas-
