In a radio address this week Mr.
R. J. Deachman, Liberal candidate
In the constituency of North Huron,
announced that in the future he
would reside in this constituency. Mr.
Deachman was born at Orange Hill,
three miles 'from the village of Gor-
rie. His father taught school in that
township for 23 years. Mr. peach -
man says he will return to the coun-
ty of his birth and take up his resi-
dence here as siaon as the election is
over, nor. did he, we believe, put In
the proviso that it depended upon
his being elected.

The 'Ebenezer United' Ghu1clt cele-
brated its anniversary on Sunday,
with afternoon and evening services
being held. The church, which has
been newly decorated, both inside
and out, was :beautifully decorated
with Autumn leaves arid late sum-
mer flowers. Rev. C. W. D. Cosens,
pastor ` of Wesley -Willis Church,
Clinton; preached at both services.
In the evening :he chose as his sub-
ject, "Can A Man By Seeking Fine'
Out God " Ire preached a very im-
pressive and inspiring sermon.
'The Holmesville Quartette com-
posed of W. Jervis, Glen Lockhart,
Alvin Cox and Anderson Scott ren-
dered two numbers, "Sometime -
Somewhere," and "Child Coyne
Home," svitli Miss Jean Webster at
the organ. Anderson Scott else.Sang
a solo, "The City Foursquare." 'The
church was crowded to capacity,
chairs ;being placed in, the aisles to
accommodate the crowd. A special
thankoffering was received.

to replace the one which was recently
burned, He will use the lumber from
.the old evaporator, which he pur-
chased in Clinton.
Mr. and Mts. Gea, Dawson visited
with friends in Stratford on Sunday
last.
Misses Bernice Lawson, Jean How-
ston and Margaret Ferguson left on
Tuesday to attend Normal School at
Stratford.
Mrs. James Johnston, who has
been ill for some time, was moved, to
the Stratford Hospital this week,
Mas. Walter Buchanan and. Miss
Joan were visitors on Sunday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs, J. J. Washing -

What is that old saying about
fruits out of season? Anyway, both
flowers and fruits seem to be paying
little attention to season this year.
An Easter lily is blooming in the
'garden of Mgrs. John Treble) of Col-
borne Township.. It was planted af-
ter it finished blooming at Easter and
now has two large blooms, 'Mrs.
William Robertson, of Auburn, - has
some fine raspberries ripening in her
garden, and, according to the bushes
there is promise of many more.
Misses Ruth Straughan and Elea-
nor Wilson attended the competition
in 'household science at London Fair
Miss Straughan 'winning first prizo
of $5.00 for the best worked button-
hole and Miss Wilson third .prize of
33,00. Both girls competed in the
demonstration on ,"Cottons May Be
Smart." Miss Wilson picturesquely
dressed as a colored girl, told the
story of "Cotton.," and each demon-
Strated o, complete wardrobe tirade of
`cottlion. • They 'carried off first prize
of $7,00 for this demonstration.
