Hall and Miss Evelyn were in Cayuga over the week -end, Dr. and Mrs. Axon returned this week from a pleasant trip down the St. Lawrence. Mr. Jack Gibbings returned on Mon- day to St. Catharines to resume his teaching duties. Mr. and Mrs. Ian MacLeod went to Toronto Tuesday to spend a few days at the C. N. E. Mrs. Phoenix and sons of Grimsby visited over the holiday week -end with their aunt, Mrs. C. H. Bart- liff. Ur. and Mia. M'. E. McFadden or Cookstown visited over the week- end with the lady's mother, Mrs. J. Cornish. Master Ted. Watson, who has been visiting his amt, Mrs. G. A. Walker of town, returned on Monday to his home in Hamilton. Mr. and Mis. Fred Elliott of Toron- to spent the Labor Day week -end with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W'. J. Elliott of town. Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Falconer at- tended the Coghlan—Lawrence wedding in Cayuga last week, and also had a motor trip up north. Mr. Ross Carter left Monday to re- sume his teaching duties at Chat- ham on the opening of the school term. He taught just outside or Chatham last year but is on the city schools staff this year. Miss Jean Plumsteel returned to Elora on 'Monday to resume her teaching dutieson the staff of the High School. Her sister, Mise Margaret, accompanied her and will remain the week. Mrs. S. Lawrence went down to Cayuga to attend the wedding of her daughter, Miss Olive, which took place last week, and is re - mining for a visit with another daughter, Mrs. Sutor. Mr. and Mrs. F. WI. Johnston re- turned last week after a month's visit with friends in Georgetown, Fenwick and Ayr. During their stay they attended the Hood— Posmell wedding in Paris. Mrs, Harry Marsh, who has been visiting her brother, Mr. G. N. Davies, and her sisters, Misses' Mae and Bessie Davies, at their home in Clinton ' and their cottage at Kintail for the past month, left Tuesday morning for her home at. Royal Oak, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Lawrence spent a few days at the former's moth- er's borne in town last week -end, going to London Sunday and on to Hamilton on Monday to be ready for the re -opening of school on Tuesday morning. Mrs. Gordon Cuninghame and chil- dren have returned after having ,spent'the vacation months at their summer home in Bayfieln. Mr. Cuninghame spent a week's vaca- tion there with his family toward the end of August and Mr. R. Jackson East of Walkerville, nep- hew of Mrs. Cuninghame, was their guest over the holiday week -end He has returned with ' them to Clinton to extend his visit and see old friends. 1 with Miss Mary Murray recently. Mr, Harold Hyde of Kincardine spent the holiday at his parent's home here. I Mr. Neely Todd left �on,,Tuesday for London to attend �?Wiestervelt School there. Mrs. Mary A. Rathwell and Mr. anis Mrs. Seth Derbyshire of Scuthwold spent a few days with Mrs. R. J. Wloods and Wilson. The teachers and pupils have all gone back to their respective duties again. On Wednesday, Aug. 28th, at high noon, a quiet wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents in Luoknow, when Miss Margaret M. Miller, youngest) daughlter of Mr. and Mrs. Sohn Miller, became the bride of Mr. Frederick J. McQuillian, elder son of Mr. Jno. McQuillian and the late Mrs. McQdillian, West Wa- wanosh. Rev. T. C. Wilkinson of Fingall officiated. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was becomingly attired in a gown' of white satin and lace with a. wreath of orange 'blossoms in her hair and carried a bouquet' of butterfly roses. The 'bride's niece, little Miss Eileen Sparks, made a charming flower girl in green organdie. The wedding march was played by Miss Florence McQuillian, sister of the groom. Af ter the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to immediate members of the family. Later the happy couple left for a motor trip, the (bride travel- ling in a navy silvertone suit with matching accessories. Manning and Miss Helen returned last week from Cedar - croft, where they spent a fort- night's holiday. Mrs. Manning re- mained for a longer holiday. Carter, and took them, his brother and sister on' a motor trip to Niagara 'Falls, St. Catharines and Toronto. Rev. H. L. Robert of Wesley United church, Galt, was the guest over the week -end of Rev.
