Here's Something Useful
For Summer Campers
The following has been handed us
by M'r. Gordon Cuninghanre, who is
fond of the Groat Outdoors, as a safe
and simple method of rendering wat-
er you are a bit doubtful of safe for
drinking:
A level teaspoonful of chloride of
Hine should be rubbed into a teacup-
ful of water. This solution should
be diluted with three cupfuls of wat-
er, and a teaspoonful of thewhole
quantity added to each two -gallon
pailful of drinking water. This will
give .4 to .5 parts of free chlorine to
a million_parts of water, sufficient to
destroy in tenminutes aII typhoid
and eolin';bacilli' or 'other dysentery -
producing organisms t in the 'water,
Moreover, all traces of the chlorine
