eral of the late Ephraim Brown on
Monday.
Dr. J. W. Shaw and Mr. T. W. Haw-
kins attended an executive meet-
ing of the North Huron Liberal
Association in Wingham on Mon-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Curts of Forest
have been here this week, being
called here by the death of the
lady's father, the late Ephraim
Brown.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Davies and Miss
Keziah Brown of London were in
town for the funeral of the late
•Ephraini Prownl who was the lad
ies' brother.

Mrs, Mary Lawson and her daugh-
tr, Mrs, Straughan of Goderich,
were in town attending the fun-
eral of the former's brother-in-law,
the late Mr. Ephraim Brown.
Mrs. McConnell of Moffatt has been
visiting her mother, Mrs. Chas.
Cook, Rattenbury street, west,
who is not in as good health as
her friends would like to see her
enjoying.
Mrs. E. Crawford of Londesboro vis-
ited her sister, Mrs. M. Montgom-
ery
ontgom-ery of town for a few days during
the past week, before leaving for
Niagara Falls, Ont., where she
will spend the: winter with her
daughter.
Miss Clara Gould, who has just re-
covered from anoperation for ap-
pendicitis, is at her home in town
and will remain until after Christ-
mas. She will then return to re-
sume a -post -graduate course at
Whitby Hospital, ' where she was
when taken ill.

Mr. Fred Anderson was called to
his old home at South Monaghan ow-
ing to the death of his sister, Miss
Elizabeth Anderson.
Mrs. Geo. Hanly is spending a few
days in Clinton this week.
Mrs. Walter Swinbank is in Toron-
to for a five weeks.

A very interesting and delightful
Christmas concert was presented in
St. Andrew's United church on Mon-
day evening Last by the pupils of S.
S. No. 2, Tuckersmith, under the
leadership of their teacher, Miss H.
Richardson, and musical instructor,
Mr. Goulding, A.T.CM. of Exeter.
"A Joke on Santa Claus," proved to
be a very interesting operetta with
both music and dialogue. Other drills
dialogues, recitations and songs were
put on by the pupils. Some senior •
girls aid boys of the congregation
