then gave an interesting illustrated
address on the missionary work in
the Peace River District, which was
very much appreciated,

The W. M. S. and W. A May meet-
ing was held in the home of Mrs.
Won. Finlay on Tuesday afternoon.
An excellent and helpful program
was prepared by Mrs. Geo. Mair, 2nd
vice-president. Following the devo-
tional exercises, Miss Francie Potter
read the scripture lesson. A chorus'
was sung by the girls. Mrs. Lorne
Jervis gave an excellent report of
the eighth annual meeting of The
Huron Presbyterial of the Women's
Missionary Society, recently held in
Clinton.
iA;' playlet entitled, "Mrs. Smith's
Mite," was presented by Misses Elva
Proctor, Reta Cudmore, Marjorie
Gliddon, Norma Potter, Jean and Ed-
na Faller and Mrs. Wilfrid Jervis.
Reading, Mrs. LesIie Jervis and a
ladies quartette was contributed,
,Mrs. J. Potter, secretary, read the
minutes and called the roll after
which the president conducted the
business.
The ladies of the Women's Associa
tion displayed a very pretty quilts
which is for sale. Mrs. E. Yeo, pre-
sident, Iconduoted• the business of
the Association. During the social
hour the hostess, Mrs. Wm. Finlay
and Mrs. E. Yeo, served a dainty
lunch,

Lambeth were guests on Sunday of
Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Welsh.
Thomas W. Cox, for 27 years a far-
mer in the Gladstone, Man., district,
died in Winnipeg last week. Born in
Goderich "Township, Mr. Cox was 52
Years old. 'Mrs. William Plunkett, of
Auburn, Ont., and Miss Lydia Cone)
