GROVES Wed 59 Years Rural life is the only life, think Mr. and Mrs. J. Bernard Wilson, who recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Both will observe their 80th birthday anniversary next year, also their diamond wedding. Mr. Wilson, who fanned in Gode- rich Township until he retired, blames the automobile for the financial plight of many farmers today, not the poor price of produce, hogs or cattle. "I saved enough for my old age when prices were much lower," he said. "Now, the money goes in mo- tor cars and gasoline not to mention neglect of farms through loss of time." Beattie and Andra Beattie of Watford were week -end visitors with their sisters, Misses Beattie of "The Vogue."' Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Town, who have spent the past year with the lat- ter's sister, Miss Emma Levis, have gone to Toronto for the win- ter months. Mrs. Chowen and her granddaughter, Nancy Jane Ford leave this morn- ing for a few days in Toronto. They will take in the "Santa Claus Pa- rade" on Saturday morning. Miss Frances Hawkins of Hamilton, Missionary on furlough from Ja- pan, spent the week -end at the home of her brother, Mr. W. T. Hawkins.
