BIBLE SOCIETY MEETS
The annual meeting of the Bible
'Society was held in Knox Presbyter-
Ilan
resbyterIlan church on Monday evening, with
Rev, H, C. Wilson, pastor of Knox
TUnited -church, in charge. : Following
the opening hymn, "0 Word of God
Incarnate',' Mr. Wilson led in prayer
=and Donald Ross read the Scripture
passage, Bea. 12:1-7. Mrs. W. T. Rob-
ison read the minutes of the last reg-
• alar' meeting. The next meeting
will be held in the Baptist Church.

Plans for a Sunday evening service
'under the auspices of the Bible So-
ciety are to be completed later. Mr.
Paul D. Tiller, Toronto, gave a spen-
did address on, "The Value and Use
of the Bible." The hymn, "Break
Thou the Bread of Life" was follow-
• ed by the Benediction by Rev. H. C.
Wilson.
The third in the series of the horse-
-shoe tournament was postponed from
-Monday night on account of the cold

The regular meeting of the Young
People's • Union of Knox United
',Church was held in the basement of
the churclt on Tuesday night. The
citizenship vice-president, Stanley
Ball, was in charge. Ila Craig pre -
aided at the piano. Following the
' opening hymn, "My Faith looks up
to ,Thee," Rev. H. C. Wilson led in
prayer. Keith'Arthur read the Scrip-
ture passage, Romans 1:1-15. 'Viv-
ian Straughan favored with a vocal
o, -Thr grandfather's clock," ac-
companied by Mary Munro: In the
absence of the secretaryy, Amy Toll
read the minutes of the last meeting.
"The hymn, "Saviour! Thy dying love,
thou gayest me, was sung. Harry
Sturdy took up the topic, "Canada
driest;' Is that Christian?" The
meeting closed with the hymn, "Blest
be the tie that binds," and the Mis-
pah Benediction.
It 'was decided at the Huron Pres-
bytery held in 'Blyth on Tuesday to
lio]d the induction service of Rev. A.
J.=Boyle, into the pastorate of Blyth,
Belgrave, Carlow and Auburn chug-
ches in Knox Presbyterian church,
Auburn, on September 3. This date
' was set ort account of there being in-
fantile paralysis in the district at the.
present time.

The regular „meeting of the Baptist
Young People's Union was held on
Sunday night with 'Harry and Roy
Webster in charge. There was a
splendid attendance. Following the
opening hymn, "Onward Christian
Soldiers," Roy Webster led in, pray-
er. Lloyd Johnston. favored with a
mouth ,organ selection, and Billy
Raithby read the scripture passage,
Psalm 91. The hymn, "All hail the
power, of Jesus Name," was sung and
Harry Webster gave a reading "Con-
quering the drought by faith." Pray-
er was offered by James Raithby.
