Mrs. Fred Leonard is spending a few weeks with her niece, Mrs, George Crooks of Delhi. Mr. and Mrs. J. L, Heard and fam- ily spent ,Sunday in Collingwood with Frank Heard. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Pinnell of Ayr were callers on Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Johnston on Sunday. Mrs. M. Uhler of Goderich visited with Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Johnston on Tuesday of this week. Mr. and Mrs, Frank Mercer and son George of St. Marys spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. G.'E. Saville. Mrs. Annie Brown was the week -end guest at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Hoggart of Londesborc. Mr, Clifton E, Robinson of London was the guest on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ian MacLeod. Mr, and Mrs. G. D. McTaggart have returned home from Toronto, where they have spent the winter. Rev. K. and Mrs. McGoun spent Tuesday in London, attending a few of the sessions of the Annual Meeting of the Diocesan W. A. M$. Edgar Torrance of Sudbury and Mr. Melvin Torrance of Toronto were visitors on. Sunday with their mother, Mrs. J. Torrance. Miss J. Isabel Biggart, Reg. N., who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Biggart for the past week, returned to Toronto on Wednesday. Mr. Randall Cole, who is doing post- graduate work at the University of Wisconsin, at Madison, is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and . Mrs. Robert Cole of Goderich township. He was accompanied by a fellow student, Mr. Clifton Childs of Birmingham, England„ Mrs. George Taylor, Mrs. Thos. Haw- kins and Miss Madelon Hawkins were delegates from St. Paul's W. A. to the annual meeting of the Diocesan W. A., held in London during the first part of the week. The W. A. of the. Church of Eng- land is celebrating its Golden Jubi- lee this year and the annual meet- ing held special interest to those attending. a two -act play to be presented in TOWN HALL, BAYFIELD, Thursday, May 6th at 8 p.m. by Women's Guild of St. George's Church, Goderich, under the auspices of Trinity Women's Guild, Bayfield. A pleas- ant time was spent at both places and splendid lunches enjoyed. Mr. John Blair who has been quite ill with flu the last couple of weeks is still' confined to his bed. The Taylor's Corners Ladies' Aid will meet at the home of Mrs. Robert Fuller on Wednesday,. May 5th. The seeding that was off to a good start two weeks ago has been halted as we have had a deluge of April showers Which last for days at a time. Mr. and Mrs. W. Hall, Milton, were guests of Mr, and Mrs. Ernie Bell. Their son who has been here for some 'weeks returned home with then. On Wednesday a GO -mile gale swept over our district accompanied by rain which managed to get into cracks and crevices which we never knew were there before. Quite a num- ber of barns and houses are minus part of their roofs, and shingles are seen, scattered in nearly every farm yard. Wilford Hicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Hicks, has been very ill in the hospital with mastoids. He is a little better today.
