Mrs. W. Fothergill and her daugh-
ter, Margaret, have returned home
after visiting a few days with the
former's sister-in-law, Mrs. Albert
Fothergill and cousins, Mabel and
Myrtle, of Wingham.
The regular meeting of the Young
People's Union was held Sunday, Ap-
ril llth, with Grant Snell presiding.
The meeting opened with a hymn,
and the Lord's Prayer in unison.
The Scripture lesson was read by
Beth Shobbrook. The minutes of the
last meeting were read by Thelma
Scott. Another hymn was sung, af-
ter which Rev. Mr. Gardiner ' led in
prayer. The topie was read by Fern
Watson. During the taking of the
offering Phyllis Manning favoured
the audience with a solo. Rev. Mr.
Gardiner then gave an interesting
talk. The meeting closed with a hymn
and ,repeating the Mizpah Benedic-
tion.
Slides are shown at the X.P.U. on
India, April 18th.
The April meeting of the Women's
Institute was held' in the Commr"rnity
Hall, April 8th, with the president,
Mrs. E. Adams, presiding. Meeting
opened in the usual form by singing
the . opening ode, followed by the
Lord's Prayer in, unison. In the ab-
sence of the secretary, Mrs. B.
Brunsdon ably filled the vacancy.
Roll call was answered by a health.
hint. During the business session it
was agreed to make a donation of
twenty-five dollars to the hall board,
and fifteen dollars to each of the
cemeteries, Ebenezer and Londesboro.
After all business was concluded,
Miss I. Nott gave a reading, and
Mrs, J. P. Manning gave an excellent
talk on, `Public Libraries" which was
indeed very interesting. Meeting
closed by singing the National An-
ther". Refreshments were served by
Mrs. W. E. Manning, Mrs. J. C. Ad -

Mrs. Edwin Woods of Londesboro,
who underwent an operation in the
Clinton Hospital for appendicitis,
was able to return to her home in
Saturday.
Mr. 0. W. Potter motored to Cur-
' ries on Saturday and returned. on
Monday, accompanied by Mrs. Pot-
ter, who has spent ten days with
her sisters in Curries.
Mrs. A. J. McMurray returned Sat-
urday to her home at Harriston af-
ter being a guest since Fair Day,
April 1st, with her sisters, Mrs.
E. Kennedy, Mrs. Corless and Mrs.
Fitzsimmons.
