5'avings For Telephone
Users
.The Bell Telephone Company an-
nounces miscellaneous rate reductions
which they state will save telephone
users of Ontario and Quebec upwards
of $600,000 yearly. Reduced charges
on rural telephones will save fanners
$100,000 a year. Other important it-
ems on which charges are cut are for.
installing and moving telephones, for
short -haul long distance calls, and for
the hand type of telephone which af-
ter May ist will cost only 15c instead
'of 30e per month more than the desk
telephone. The expectation is that
the reductions will lead to a still more
widespread use of the telephone, in-
creasing its value to all users.
