The annual pie social which was
held in Community Hall under the
auspices of the Women's Institute,
held on March 17th, was a success as
far as supper and programs was con-
cerned. The crowd was not so large
as sometimes owing no doubt to so
many other attractions so near. How-
ever a good time was anticipated. A
tidy sum was added to the W.T. treas-
ury. The lucky prize winners were as
follows: 1st prize, •a blanket, to Miss
Phyllis Manning; 2nd prize, a pair
of linen maderia pillow cases, Mr: L.
Ball; 3rd prize, a handsome piece of
pottery, Mrs. D, Roberton; Clinton.

Mrs. Reid who recently broke her
leg is improving nicely.
The Friendly Class of the United
Church are putting on a Cantata in
the church on Good Friday night.
There will also be other numbers on
the program.
A gloom was cast over the com-
munity 'on Thursday last when the
news came that Mrs. Arthur Way-
mouth had passed way in Clinton
Hospital. The funeral was held on
Saturday, March 20th, from her par-
ents home, Mr. Thos. Little to the
Union cemetery, Blyth. Rev. A. W.
Gardiner officiating. The bereaved
ones are the stricken husband and
infant son, her father and mother,
Mr. and Mrs.Thos. Little, also five
sisters and four brothers.
Sympathy goes out to the bereav-
ed ones who mourn the sudden pas-
sing of the one so near and dear to
them.
The pallbearers were four brothers,
Stewart, John, William and Milton
Little, and two brothes-in-law, Wil-
liam and Charles Waymouth.
The April meeting of the Woman's
Institute will be held in the Com -
April 8th. Program subjects, Pub-
lic Library, Mrs. J. P. Manning; roll
call, "Health building habit"; read-
ing, Mrs. J. Nott; duet, Mrs. S. Car-
ter and Mrs. M. Ross, also exchange
of seeds and bulbs. Hostesses, Mrs.
W. E. Manning, Mrs. J. C. Adams,
Mrs. J. P. Manning, Mrs. W. Hamil-
ton and Mrs. H. Sprung,
Mr. and Mrs. Win. Waymouth, Mas-
ter Douglas and Miss Annabel of
Windsor were at the home of Mr. C.
Sundercock over the week -end, com-
ing up to attend the funeral of the
late Mrs. A. A. Waymouth.
Mi'. George Iiesk and Mrs. W. S.
Gibson of. Toronto and Mrs, Rose
Hesk'of Manitoba were here for the
funeral of Mrs, A. A. Waymouth.

ronto going there to meet his moth-
er, who had come from her home
in Rosetown, Sask.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Nediger, Miss
Helen Nediger and Mrs. Harold
Turner spent the week=end with
friends in Hamilton.
Mrs. John Walker, who has been liv-
ing in Kitchener for several years,
is at present visiting at the home
. of her son, Mr. G. A. Walker, Rat-
tenbury street.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lodge of London,
formerly of Clinton, have removed
to Goderieh, where Mr. Lodge has
associated himself with Brophy
Brothers, Funeral Directors.
Mr. and Mrs, Nevin of London were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Thomp-
son of Goderich Township on Sun-
day. • Mrs. Nevin sang two solos in
St. Paul's Church on Sunday.
Mr. Robert Hale, Miss Erma Hale,
and Mr. and Mrs: Bob Jervis mot-
ored to St: Catharines to spend the
week -end witli relatives taking in
the game at Niagara Falls. On Sun-
day Bob and Erma spent the day
with friends in Buffalo and were
out to see the pasenger planes
taking off at the Airport which
was of great intertest.

McEwen attended the funeral of the
late Mrs. Cecil Legg in South' Dor-
chester on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. B. Baird vis-
ited in London for a few days last
week.
Miss Retia .Taylor. of London vis-
ited at the home of Mrs. Thos. Camp-
bell last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Taylor enter-
tained a few of their friends and
neighbours to a party last Wednesday
night. .:
Mrs. Fenwick Stewart had the mis-
fortune to fall last Saturday and
break two bones in her left wrist.
