For
Valentines Day
On February 14th, when the anni-
versary of the patron saint of lovers
the world over is observed, we are
pleased to offer for your choice a
large assortment of Valentines pric-
ed frOrn lc to $1.00, Amongst thes
you can find one for kiddies, comical
and rnechanicai, a lacy creation with
a touch of sentiment in yerm, a co-
nic sheet that is supposed to point
out your fancied faults, or a dainty
card expressly worded for husband,
wife, son, daughter, and last but not
least, env for swgetheart, with en-
dearing an charating verse. An in-
novation this season is the "Scotch
-
mates Valentine," a: small card in a
large envelope, the verse explains
that because economy has made the
card small there is more room in the
envelope for love front the sender.
For those who have in mind a party
at this time of year why not make
it a gala evening indeed and fix up
your tables, etc., with valentine de-
corations. We have serviettes, table
covers, tally cards, decorated crepe
and other small favors for parties.

Miss Wilhelmine Trewartha o f
Clinton spent the tveek-end with
friends and relatives in the village.
As Jae. 9th was the fifth Friday in
the month the Y. P. IL prepared a
special program. Mr. Norman Tre-
wartha, in the chair, meeting opened
with the singing of a hymn which
was followed by a prayer offered by
Rev. J. W. Herbert, Miss Helen Mac -
Math read the evening's lesson. The
next item was a duet sung by the
Misses Vi. Glidden and Alma Tre-
wartha, the latter accompanying on
her •guitar. Mr. Kenneth Trewartha
gave a humorous reading about the
danger of attempting to drive a car.
with only onelight, another hymn was
sung after which a very pleasing vi-
olin and piano duet was, presented by
lYliss Muriel and Mr. Reg. Miller, a
business discussion, was then held, the
outcome being the launching of
plans for a jolly Valentine Social.
Watch for further notice as the
Saints birthday is drawing near.
The next number on this section of
the program was g..1 beautiful guitar
duet played by Messrs. Gordon and
Lloyd Stock. The boys graciously
responded to a much desired encore.
Another hymn was sung and with the
repeating of the Mizpah Benediction
this part of the program was brought
to a close. At this point the chair-
man handed over the meeting to Miss
W. •Trewartha of Clinton, who con-
ducted a very successful sing -song,
which was enjoyed by all. Next came
a merry hour of genies which were
cleverly arranged and. directed by
Mimes Gay Whitmore and Edna Hul-
ler. A happy evening had drawn to
close but everyone is eagerly anti-
cipating the next Y.P.U. Social.
Don't forgot that it is only about two
weeks away.
Mr. H. Conway of Thamesforcl was
a guest at the parsonage one day re -
eently.
