BRUCEFIELD
The January meeting of the W.M.S.
was held in the basement last week.
The president, Mrs. C. Haugh, was
'n the chair, with Mrs. L. Forrest at
the organ. After the opening hymn,
Mrs. A... McQueen led in prayer. The
scripture readings were taken by Mrs.
Mary Brown, and Mrs. J. B. Mustard.
The devotional leaflet was read by
Mrs. Jas. McQueen. The thence was
"Jesus, the Friend of Women and
Children," followed by a hymn, "Si-
ent prayer," a number of members
leading in short prayers. Mrs. Jas.
Thompson gave a reading for temper-
ance, and Mrs. A. McQueen on Christ-
mas Stewardship. After the roll call
the treasurer and secretaries gave
their annual reports, after the offer-
ing a letter was read from the Supply
Secretary, Mrs. Gillespie, on Supply
Work, asking for quilts and second-
hand clothing. Miss E. Bowery took
the chair for the Study period, when
interesting readings were given by
several members. It was decided to
hold the February meeting at 1.30
o'clock to be followed by the World's
Day of Prayer service on Feb. 12th.
The treasurer reported sending $352.
dollars to the Presbyterial Treasurer.
Regret was expressed that the offer-
ing was not as large as in 1935. Three
of the most driterested members have
passed on to their reward, who will
take their place?
