Brownwere up from Woodstock last week -end. On their return Monday they met with an accident when their car' collided with another at Ingersoll. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the Brown car was damaged, Mrs. J. C. Cooper, who accompanied her husband last year when he went to take a post -graduate course at. St. Andrews University, St. :Andrews, Scotland, returned last week and iswith her mother, wn , Mrs. J. W. Treleaven. "It shall be unlawful for, the own- er of any dog to permit such dog to run at large during the period of the close seasonfor deer in a locality which, deer, moose or caribou usually inhabit or in which they are usually found." It is reported that dogs: are run- ning deer in the vicinity of the Maits land river in. Colborne Township. Anyone may kill such dogs on sight without liability to any penalty or damage. Andh owner,if known, the is liable to -prosecution. Owners of hunting dogs are , eonsidered to be. sportsmen. It is not sportsmanlike to allow dogs to run deer during the breeding season.
