An Open Letter to the
Town Council
Gentlemen:
The writer has much respect for
those who can lay claim to Scotch
ancestry. They are rightfully proud
of their race with all its honoured
25c htraditions, and as loyal Canadians
they are rightfully proud ,of the
c British flag.
That flag gentlemen, is to be the
subject of this letter to you. May
I suggest that you raise your eyes
from your everyday menial tasks.
Look upward to that flag whioh flies
over the public building wherein you
weigh the weighty problems connect-
ed with the affairs of this town.
After you have gazed upon that
tattered remnant of a proud flag,
bow your heads in shame. It is •a
disgrace to you and to all loyal sub-
jects of our King, Shall that disgrace
continue? Gentlemen, in the name of
common decency, unloose thestrings
of the town's coffers, take therefrom
the .purchase price of a new flag.
Restore to us our pride in the Eng-
lish, Flag; --Antonymous.
