Ferguson and Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Adams all of Windsor spent the weekend with friends here. Visitors with Mrs. C. Ross on Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. D. F. McNair and Christine of Montreal, Mr. and Mrs. James McNain of Am- berly, and Mr. and Mrs. John Mc- Kenzie, JanetandJune of Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Sheppard and -family have returned from a vacation spent at Sundridge and Peterboro. Mr. John Tyndall of Windsor is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Earl Raithby. Mrs.: Earl McKnight, Jack and Garth are visiting Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Ferguson of Clinton, Lawlor Reunion Some sixty-six members of the families of . the late Thomas and Henry Lawlor gathered at the farm home of Sanford Lawlor on Sunday to celebrate a family reunion. ' All the members of Thomas Lawlor's family were present except Mr. Leandor Lawlor of Kenton, Man., who was unable to be present owing to the death of his 25 -year-old son. A social time was enjoyed by\rall. Mrs. M. Armstrong of Auburn was the oldest person present and Evelyn Smith of West Wawanosh was the youngest person present. Those pres- ent came from Guelph, Detroit, Windsor, Godericli, 'Teeswater, Dun- gannon, Oakland, Auburn and sur- rounding district. IVIr. and Mrs. F. 0.-Mellveen, Eric and Gilbert, have returned to Bow- manvillo after a three-iweek's visit with M. and Mrs. Alfred Asquith. The county i9 crushing gravel at the gravel pit near the river hero. While working at the • gravel pit, Clayton Ladd had the misfortune tp. hurt his leg. B. Y. P. Y. The B. Y. P. ' U. held its monthly meeting in the church basement with Frank Raithby's class in charge of the meeting. Bill Raithby presided, Roy Webster read the scripture, and Marjorie and Lloyd Johnston gave a musical number. George Raithby fav- ored with a number on the accordian. Herman McPhee gave the topic on "The Cross Roads of Life". Frank Raithby held a Bible Quizz and Mrs. R. J. Phillips closed the meeting with prayer. Most of the fanners in this district are threshing out. After his thresh-- ing, hresh-.ing, Mr. George Bean had 5,000 bus. of new grain. Milton, N.D., and William Parker of Spruce Lake, Sask. Mr. Parker possessed a genial disposition which won him many friends throughout the country where he operated a threshing outfit for many years. He was a member of L.O.L. No. 24 for 58 years and was also a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters. In religion he was an Anglican being a member of Trinity Church, Bayfield. The funeral will take place on Thurs- day at 2.30 pan. from his late resi- dence, BAYFIELD Death of Charles Parker The death occurred at his home in the village of Charles Parker on Monday, August 21st after an illness of several weeks. The deceased inan who was widely known in the district was born hi New York State, July 18th 1859, came with his parents to Tuckersenith township when two years of age and moved to Bayfield at the age of 21, where he has re- sided ever since. Fifty seven years age he was married to Catharine Johnston who survives tum: He is also survived by five daughters and' four sons, Louise (Mrs. Harold King) Sarnia; Clara (Mrs. E. Featherston), Bayfield; Buelah (Mrs. L. Smith), London; Margaret (Mrs. R. J. Lar- son), Aldergrove, B.C.;• Belle (Mrs. George Reid), Varna; Jack and Wm. of Bayfield; Percy of Nekoma, N.D.; Chris., Naicaim, Sask., also. by two sisters and brother, . Mrs. Mary Cox of Enderlin, N.D., Mrs. Nettie Merta, Mrs. Wilfred Graham Citizens ofthe village were shock- ed to learn of the sudden death which occurred in Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 14, of Doris Gemeinhardt, wife of Wilfred Graham of Goderich, The deceased woman, who was the second daugh- ter of Mrs. Mary Gemeinhardt and the late Frederick Gemeinhardt, was only in her twenty-fifth year, having been born in Bayfield in September 1914. Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, two sisters, Mrs. G. Knight, Toronto, and Miss Evelyn at home, .and four. brothers, Norval of Saginaw and Charles, Douglas and Keith at home. The funeral was held from the residence of her mother on Thursday afternoon and interment made in Bayfield. Cemetery. The service was in charge of the rector, Rev. J. Graham. The pallbearers were: Messrs. Leslie El- liott, Walter Westlake, Jack Sturg- eon, Jr., Jahn Lindsay, Wm. Perry, Wm. E. Parker. Mr. .1. McCarthy, Mgr. of King Edward Hertel, Toronto, and wife and Mr. W. Coulthurst of Toronto called on Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Neelin on Friday of last week, Dr. and Mrs Newton -Brady of Hamilton called on friends in the village on Sunday. • Misses Patsy and Barbara Morley of Pleasant Ridge, Mich., are the guests of their aunts, the Misses Morley at their cottage for the next two weeks. Dr. and Mrs. E, P, Lewis, who have been visiting Mrs. N. W. Woods returned to their home in Toronto on Monday. Dr. C. S•togdill returned to Toronto ori Sunday after having spent his vacation at his summer home in the village. Mr. and Mrs. A. Oke, who were the grtests of Dr. and Mrs. Stogdili last week, accompanied him to Toronto. • Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Buchan and son, Ewing, returned to their home in Dunnville on Saturday after hav- ing spent a few days with the form- er's sister, Mrs, N. W. Woods. Mr. W. Grierson of Kitchener spent the weekend with Mrs. F. A. Ed- wards. Mrs. Grierson, wito has been visiting her aunt, returned to. Kitch- ener with her husband. Rev. and Mrs. F. H. Paull, who occupied F. Haney of Tuckersmith received word this week of the death at his home at Mossbank, Sask., of her brother, Mr. George Hicks, after a lengthy illness. He was born at Thessalon in 1881, going to the West thirty years ago.
