A meeting of the Upper Canada
Bible Society was held in the Ang-
lican Church Sunday evening. Mr.
Wigmore of Toronto, a representative
of the society, was present and gave
a splendid address on the work of
the Bible Society. At the close of
the meeting Mr. Charles Asquith, the
local president,.presided for the elec-

O'MALLEY-KINAHAN
A pretty wedding was solemnized
on Saturday morning at the St.
Augustine R. C. Church when Mary
Loretta, eldest daughter of Mr. Wil-
liam Kinahan and the late Mrs. Kinn-
hart of St. Augustine became the
bride of Thomas Joseph O'Malley,
eldest son of Mr. Peter O'Malley and
the late Mrs. O'Malley of Wingham.
The ceremony was performed by Rev.
Father Mahon. The bride who was

of pink "silk embroidered in silver
with a finger-tip veil, of pink with
white shoes 'and gloves ,and carried
an arm .bouquet of-briareliff roses,
blue cornflowers and maiden hair
fern. The bridesmaid, Beatrice Kina-
han, sister pf the bride wore a floor
length gown of flowered taffeta,
white shoes, gloves and hat with a
boquet of Colonial roses and corn-
flowers.The groomsman was Patrick
O'Malley of Toronto, brother of the
groom. The wedding music was play-
ed by Miss Mae Redmond A.T.C.M.,
of St. Augustine who also sang "Ave
Marie" at offeratory of the Mass.
During the signing of the register
Miss Ettabelle Webster of West
Wawanosh sang "0 Promise Me".
Fallowing the ceremony the wedding
party repaired to the Bedford Hotel,
Goderich, where a wedding breakfast
Was served. Afterwards, Mr. and
Mrs. O'Malley Oeft for a Wedding
trip to Kirkland Lake, the bride
chose ler traveling a Persian Gold
dress, black patent shoes, and purse,
black and gold hat and black and
gold tweed coat. On their return they
will reside on the groom's farm on
the 10th concession of West Wawan-
osh.
Prize Winners
Winners in the recent electrical
slogan contest held here have been
announced. 1st. prize, an electric
percolator set, went to Mrs. 0. H
Ferguson, 15 Dunduin Crescent, Tor-
onto. 2nd. prize, an electric clock,
was awarded Dt., McInnes, Clinton,
and 3rd. prize, a two -plate stove to
Mrs. George Knights,, Clinton. The
prize winning slogans Were: "Be

Competition
The 13th annual Huron County
Live Stock Judging Competition was
held in the Clinton district on Sat-
urday, June 3rd., under the direction
of the Huron County Branch of the
Ontario Department of Agriculture.
Sixty nine boys 'took part in this
competition which was open to all
boys in the County 26 years of age
and under se ,
Two classes each of heavy horses,
beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep and
swine were judged on the following
farms: Willis VanEgmond, Eph.
Snell, W. J. Dale, Howard Armstrong
and W. L. Whyte.
The judges e'vbo placed the classes
and scored, the contestants in oras
reasons are as follows: Heavy horses,
S. B. Stothers, Dept. of Agriculture,
Arthur; Beef Cattle, Bruce Beer, As-
sistant 'Representative, Markdale;
Dairy Cattle, R. E. White, Dept, of
Agriculture, Stratford; Sheep, T. S.
Cooper, Dept. of Agriculture, Mark -
dale; Swine, A. H. Martin, Assist-
ant Director, Dept. of Agriculture,
Toronto, Ontario.
The prize list was divided into
four .sections, 7 .boys took part In
Section 1, for Juniors, 21 boys m
Section 2, for Seniors, 24 boys' in
Section 3, for boys entered in Club
work lit the County, and 7 boys in
Section 4, for members of the Dash-
wood and Woodham Short Courses.
Two 'cash' prizes were awarded in
Section 1, 5 in Section 2, 3 in Sec-
tion 3, and 2 in Section 4. Mr. Alden
Crich, Seaforth, was - high man with
a score of 704 points : out of a pos-
sible 750, and was winner of $25.00
in cash, to help' defray expenses at
the International Live Stock Show,
Chicago in November.
The following were the 'prize win-
ners, in each section 'of the Prize
List:
Section 1 — Cash prize $4, Harold
Tyndall, Clinton; $3, Grant. Snell,
Londesboro., ,
Section 2—Cash Prize $5, Alden

The prize money awarded: in this
competition is provided by the Huron
County Council 'through the Junior
Extension Grant. _.

The regular meeting. of the W. 1.
was held in the Community Hall on
Thursday, June 1st. with the presi-
dent, Mrs. R. Pairservice presiding.

up. It was agreed to donate twenty-
five dollars to the Ebenezer Ceme-
tery board. It was 'decided to start
a fund towards making the Hall

bourhood Workers Assoc., Toronto,
was read, asking for homes for city
children where they may enjoy an
outing for two weeks or more during
the hot weather. Any person wishing
children communicate with the secre-
tary, Mrs. B. Brundson. The .Roll
Call was answered by "My favorite
grade and brand of canned goods",
was responded to by 32 members. A
social evening to be given the win-
ning side of the recent drive on
Wednesday evening, June 14th. This
concluded the business part of the
meeting and program followed. The
guest speaker, Me. Shearer, Agr'ie.
Representative for Huron County,
gave an address on Conservation of
Plant and Animal Life. In his ad-
dress Mr. Shearer stressed the uses
of trees and their preservation. He
also said "when we get rid of the
trees, we also get rid of our
flowers, birds and animals, 300,000
trees have been planted in Huron
County." Mn Shearer's address was
mast interesting as well as instruc-
tive, Miss G, Mountain contributed
an instrunmental and Mrs. Menzies a
vocal solo. Meeting closed by singing
"God Save the Ring",' Lunch was
served by, the group in charge. 38

Many car and truck loads of child-
ren passed through here on Tuesday'
morning on their way to Stratford
to 'see Their Majesties Ring George
and Queen Elizabeth. Many from this
community availed themselves the
opportunity of seeing theist, some to
Stratford and some to London and
some to Toronto.
