beautifully decorated on Sunday with
Bags and bunting to commemorate
Their Majesties Visit to. Canada.
The 13. Y. P. U. met in the church
basement Sunday evening with Mr.
Ears Raithby in charge. The meeting
was opened with the singing of the
National Anthem, after which Glenn.
Raithby led in prayer, Mr. Robt,
Gibbs and son, Donald of Londesboro
favoured with a beautiful piano and
violin duet, The Scripture was read
by Reid Sheppard, and Harold Reid
gave a reading Mr. Gibbs and Mee,
R. J. Phillips played a piano dues,
The topic was given by Mr. Alex.
MacKenzie on "The . Captivity of
Judah".. Mr. Gibbs and Donald play-
ed another duet. Earl Raithby closed
the meeting with prayer.
The Forrester's Hall was filled on
Friday evening when the Swiss Bell
Ringers presented an excellent con-
cert of mirth, and melody. A dance
followed the programme.
W.M.S. of Knox Presbyterian Church
The W.M,S, of Knox Presbyterian
Church held their monthly meeting in
the basement of -the church on Thurs-
day afternoon. This meeting was in
the form. of a quilting. Some twenty,
members were present. Two quilts
were made. Atthe conclusion of the
quilting a pot -luck supper was enjey-
ed by all present.
The Women's Institute met in tate
Forrester's Hall last Tuesday with
the president, Mrs, Lawson in charge.
The meeting was opened by singing
the (Ade ,and regeatibg^ the, Lord's
Prayer in unison. Mrs, Lawson, Mrs,
Ross, Mrs. Woods, and Mrs. Mogridge
were appointed delegates to attend
the District Annual in Goderich on
June 9th. A reading was given by
Mrs. Earl Raithby; Little Lorraine
Hamilton gave a recitation "Ten little
Fingers"; a reading was given by
Mrs. Jas. Woods, MTS. Fred Oster,
District President was present and
gave a splendid. talk on "How we are
Governed" and "Ways of Maldng a.
Will". A hearty vote of thanks was
extended Mrs. Oster for her splendid
address. ' Miss Josephine Weir favor-
ed with a solo. The roll call was
answered bypaying of fees.' The:
singing- of the National Anthem
brought the meeting to a close after
which a daintylunch was sowed by
Mrs. J. J. Robertson, Mrs. Win. Dobie
and MVMrs. Kalmar Dawson.,•

Rowe-Bruette No. 5 Well, drilling in
Raleigh Township near Praiiie Sid
ing, was started on Anvil 19th, and
at the date of, writing has reached
a depth of 2000 feet. It is now
chilling in the shales overlaying the
Trenton Limestone. The log of this
will indicates it to be in the fractured
zone, where large production should
be anticipated in the underlying
Trenton.
