ASK CREAM LAWS BE
AMENDED ..
The present regulations covering
tnethods of cream collection in rural
areas, was a subject of much dis-
cussion at last week's session of Bruce
county council
Reeves Logan of Huron and Shew-
felt of Kincardine township sponsored
a resolution protesting against the
regulation of the Department of Agri-
culture which prohibits the use of
create gathering stations claiming
that this 'regulation has greatly in-
convenienced the farmers on the back
eoneessios , and outlying sections of
the province. It was further pointed
out that the regulation retards rather
than hastens thetransportation of
cream to creameries, and that it is
having a destructive effect Upon ham-
lets and villages in deverting teed°
to particular centres, thus removing
conveniences from the farmers.
The Agricultural : Committee, to
which the resolution was referred,.
recommended that the regulation be
amended so that cream gatherini;
stations would again be permitted
to operate in districts where weather
and road conditions prevent • the
satisfactory gathering .of cream. from
November 15th to March 15th, and
with this modification the resolution
will be forwarded to Hon, Mr, Dewan
for his consideration.

IT'S JUST NOT SO
Frequently we hear it said by way,
of" their excusing their do-nothing
policy that our rural members of pal:-
Bement would not be iteeded in par -

three months. She was in her eighty- their mouths in behalf of public ser -

Mrs. Easom was born in England,
coming to Canada in early life with
vice. The statement is utterly with-
out foundation. The big shots in par-
liament did not win their place simply

and now Mr. Wood illustrate this fact,
Only last week a farmer got up in his
place and made a speech at Ottawa
that has been recognized as being the
real thing in utterance on public
questions. Ninety-five per cent of the
back -benchers say nothing because
they have nothing to say. About the
only purpose they serve is the doling
out of patronage on a ptu'ely partisan
basis. The remarks of the late Mr,
Matt, in the Ontario House Illustrate
our point. This rural stalwart was
brought up on the carpet for dis-
loyalty to the party whip. Said he:
"I was elected to serve my country,
not to do as, I 20115 told by folks
who don't care a last year's bird's
