Champions Receive Shield
The Ontario Provincial Champion-
ship shield is now on display at the
Epps Sport Shop. This shield was
presented to the Clinton Rifle Club
for their marksmanship in the .22
Sporting Rifle Competition when they
obtained a perfect score. The shield
is mounted on a black base giving the
plaque an aluminum appearance. The
letters D.M. are mounted on a maple
leaf 'and the two bronze plates carry
the inscription "1938 Clinton Rifle
Club" with their score 1500 x1500
The other plate on the shield Barrie
the name of the Border Cities Civil.

Lee -Reynolds
A pretty wedding was solemnized
in St. Agnes,Roman Catholic church
on November 24th when Rose E. Rey-
nolds daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.
0. Reynolds of Clinton was united in
marriage to Hayden Lee ,son of Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Lee of Pittsburg.
Rev. Father Charles Hennigen offic-
iating. The bride given in marriage
by her father was charming in a gown
of white satin Queen Ann style with
a finger tip veil held in place with
orange blossoms and carrying. a bou-
quet of white roses and baby mums.
The bride was attended by her sister,
Miss Agnes of Clinton wearing a
charming gown of Rose taffeta with
shoulder `veil to match and carried a
bouquet of red roses. Gilbert Cardinal
friend of the groom acted as best
man. Jack Doherty and John Allen
as ushers. Dinners was served at the
Golden Pheasant Inn to the bridal
party and immediate relatives. Rev.l

Father Sullivan of Clinton was a
Rev. J. Graham Appointed
to Varna and Middleton
Rt. Rev. C. A. Seager, Bishop of
Huron, announced that Rev. John
Graham, rector of Brussels and Wal-
ton has been appointed to the parishes
of Bayfield, •Varna and Middleton,
the appointment to date Brom Jan-
uary 15, 1939. Rev. W. J. Hendry,
Present incumbent of Pelee Island,
will succeed Mr. Graham in the' tat-
ter's parish on the same date.

ing Gift
At a: meeting of the Ministerial
Association held yesterday at the
home of Mr. C. S. Hawke, Rev. G.
G. Burton, vice-president of the As-
sociation read the following address
to. Rev. G. W. -Sherman;
Dear Mr. Sherman:
On this, the occasion of your de-
parture from us, we wish to express
to you how deeply we feel the lots
of your fellowship: from our midst. i
Your beaming smile, your cheer-
ful conversation, have. driven away
n dark and
ma
from our meetings, y
foreboding clouds of pessimism. Your
sense of humour has been timely and
gracious bringing peace arid harmony
to our group.
We ask you to accept this little
token of our. esteem, as a reminder
of our happy days together in union
'with the brethern.
We wish you and Mrs. Sherman
very many happy years of usefulness
and service in your new field, and
hope you will radiate the same bony -
ant spirit in your new charge as
you have shown in .Clinton and
vicinity.
At the conclusion of the address
each 'minister spokebriefly wishing
'Rev. Sherman much happiness in his.
new field and - expressing their ap-
preciation for the fellowship and co-
operation they had received from
him during his pastorate here.
Expressing his appreciation for the
address and the beautiful gift which
accompanied it, Rev. - Sherman said
he would carry many pleasant mem-
ories of his happy ° associations 'here
to his new home in Sparta.

Going to Sparta
Rev. G. W, Sherman, pastor of the,
Baptist church here and also at Aub- .
urn, will conclude his pastorate this
month, having been appointed to the
Sparta circuit which is- near ` ;St.
Thomas. There he will have three
churches under his supervision, one
of them being Elgin Street Church,' .
St. Thomas. The parsonage is at
Sparta and Rev. and Mrs. Sherman
will move there early next month,.
