Some 500 people attended the Fowl
supper in Knox Presbyterian church
on Friday evening. 'Visitors were
present from Toronto, Owen Sound,
Goderieh, Dungannon, Crewe, Clin
e:on, Winghain, Blyth, Lucknow,
•.Stratford, Whitechurch and surround-
ing . communities. Following the
supper .a concert was held in the
• Forester's Hall.

The regular monthly Meeting of

•charge. The secretary read a letter
'from the Rainy River Red Cross ask-
ing fora donation to help the fire
sufferers, , also one from the Canad-
ian National Institute for the Blind.

ard Robertson. A musical contest
"was oondtictod by Mrs. Gordon Tay-
'lor and Mrs. R. 3. Phillips, the first
rilnize was Won by Mrs. Wes Brad-
nook and second by Mrs. Georgo
Hamilton. It was decided to ,hold
the December meeting a week earl-
ier on December 13th instead of De-
cember 20th. Mrs. Woods and 'Mrs.
E. Phillips were appointed to look
after the exchange of Christmas
gifts. It was also decided to have
a quilting at one of the meetings In
bhe near future. The singing of the
National Anthem brought the meet-
ing to a close after which a dainty
lunch was served by the hostesses.
Miss Josephine Weir, Mrs. J. J.
Robertson and Mrs. George Sturdy.
Mr. Stephen Medd of Woodstock
called on friends here last Saturday.
Mr. John Peffer and Mr. Weint of
Kitchener and Mr. and Mrs. Irtvin
of Wingltam visited with Wallace
and Miss Margaret King on Sunday.
Tuesday the first sleigh driven by
John Lockhart appeared on main
street.

Rev. Canon Q. Warner of London
was present at the service in Trinity
Church on Monday evening last when
'he baptized the infant son of Rev. and
Mrs. W. G. Bugler. At the same
service the rector baptized the small
son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Watson.

it was stated that Mr. and Mrs.
Charlesworth of Toronto spent Sat-
urday with Mi. and Mrs. Wm. Stur-

ily spent Thursday evening of last
week with Mr. and Mrs, Jas. M. Reid
of Clinton. Mr. Keys also attended
the legion meeting.
Mr. Ray Keys attended a banquet
in Clinton Last Thursday evening put
on by the Old. Time Club.
Mr. and r Mrs. Jas. M. Reid of
Clinton spent Wednesday evening
with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Keys and
fancily.
The November meeting of the
Women's Association was held at the
parsonage on November 10th in the
form' of a quilting, the quilt was for
Miss Katherine Peters. Meeting op-
ened with Hymn 187 "Break Thou
the Bread of Life", followed by the
Scripture for the day, taken from the
Upper Roono and read by Mrs. J. R.
Peters.' The Lord's. Prayer was then
repeated in unison. Minutes were
read by secretary. Mrs. Roy Dowson
and adopted as read. Six ladies an-
swered roll call. President Mrs. Ings
reported $4.25 had been paid in last
monthfor quilting. -It was decided
to withdraw the December meeting
on account of other activities. Col-
lection 85e. Meeting closed with The
Mizpah Benediction. The ladies
then quilted the remainder of the
afternoon.
We are sorry to ,report Me, John
McAsh is still confined to his bed,
we hope he will soon be around again.

home on Thursday evening to cone
gratulate them on 'their recent mar-

After the service in the hall the pro-
cession marched to the soldier's
monument' to place wreaths 'there in
honour of our Stanley boys who lost
their lives during the war.
Mr. and Mrs, Habkirk and child-
ren visited Mr. and Mrs, Nelson Reid
on Sunday.
Mrs. 5 .B. Williams of Sonis,' Man,
is spending a few days in London be

Dr. Harveys Reid and . family of
Toronto spent the weekend the guest
of his mother and brother.
Mre. Stalk is spending a few weeks
in Kitchenen

Hospital on Wednesday night. The
funeral was held in Detroit on Sat-
urday. Mr. and Mrs. Quarry return-
ed to the village on Tuesday to close
their home for the winter. •
