Miss Ruth Thacher of Teeswater, .and Miss Bernice Lawson and Messrs Brown and Johnston who are tak- ing summer courses at Toronto, vis- ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar, Lawson on ,Saturday. Mr. William Kinahan of West Wa- ' : awnosh, who was seriously injured about six weeks ago when the team ran away, was able to be brought • home from the hospital last week, but will have to remain in bed for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lawson spent the weekend in Galt, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kruse. Mrs. Lawson ' remained for a weeks visit. Miss Dolly Beadle, who has been visiting friends in Kitchener, has re- turned home. The Entrance pupils of Miss Marg- •aret Ferguson who teaches near Parkhill were all successful in pas- = sing their Entrance, two of them ob- taining honors. Bruce Greig of Colborne township fell through a hay rack while load- ing hay. Some days passed before i he felt the effects of the fall. He then consulted Dr. Weir who found he had broken several ribs. He had ' worked four of five days with the injury. . Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John McKnight on Sunday - were Mr. and Mrs. David Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnston and ' family of Sheppardton, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Love of Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ferguson Bill and Lois of Clinton. Read - Angie were given by Misses Eleanor -Wilson, Mrs. Lawson and Mrs. Kai- - mer Dawson. Miss Josephine Weir favored with a solo. Mrs. Frederick Yungblutt, who has been secretary for the past two years resigned, and Miss Eleanor \Vrilsen was appointed to take her place. The roll call was • answered by a verse of scripture. Lunch was served by Mrs. Kellner Dawson, Mrs, Fred Ross and the hostess, Mrs. Stoltz. BAPTIST CHURCH PICNIC The Auburn and Clinton members -of the Baptist Sunday Schoo] met at Harbor Park, Goderich on Satur- • day for their annual picnic. The first part of the afternoon was spent in :social chat and swimming, after which a supper was served by the -elder members of the congregation. Following the supper Mr. Butler of ° Clinton, and Frank Raithby of Auburn, had charge of the races. CHURCH NEWS At the Anglican Church, Sunday morning Rev. 1. M. Weeks spoke from Hebrews 10-24-25 on "Why I do not go to Church." At ICnok 'United Church, Rev. G. A.,„Barnard of Nile !rad charge of the service and took his text, from Matthew 11-28.. The choir favored with a number. Rev. H. C. Wilson preached Anniversary Services at Nile. At Knox United Church, Rev. G. A. M. Boyle was in charge and spoke from John 13-37. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was observed. The B. Y.P.U. had charge of the service in the Baptist Church with Earl Raithby in charge, The script- ure was read by Arnold Philips, prayer by Harold Reid.. Lloyd Johnston gave a guitar and mouth organ selection. ' Shirley and Emma Robertson favored with a duet. The topic was taken by Frank Raithby. Next Sunday . the Male Quartette from Stratford will have charge of the service. HOLMESVILLE ..Miss Hazel Wolfe of Stoney Creek also Mr. K. Miss Frances Potter, who has been nursing in Clinton, is holidaying with relatives here. Mrs. Earl Cudmore and little daughter, of Brampton, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John Cudmore. Crich of Pontiac, Mich., are visiting with relatives in this, vicinity. Miss Laura and Mr. Earl Deicher of Dashwood, visited with Miss Viola Pepper on Sunday. Mr. land Mrs. W. EBENEZER The monthly meeting of the W.A. of Ebenezer was held Thursday, July 14th in the form of -a-picnic at the river. Mrs. Merrill had 'charge of the meeting which opened by .sing- ing a hysnn. Mr. .Wilding read the scripture, and led in Drayer, Then followed a song by Margaret and Josephine Muir • and Margaret and Bernice Lobb; a duet by Margaret and Bernice Lobb; song by Beth Hayden, all accompanied by guitar music by the Lobb girls. Mr. Wilding gave a very interesting address and showed snaps of . a trip he ntacle to Victoria, B.C. The meeting closed with a hynnn, and prayer by Mr. Wilding after which swimming and other amusements were enjoyed. A lovely lunch .was served by Mrs. W.
